The Pod People

This week we have week four of five for our five weeks of horror for Halloween with Zombieland (2009)! In this film, the world has been taken over by zombies! We follow Columbus as he travels alone home to Ohio to hopefully find his family. On his trip he meets Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock and he discovers that they are the only family he needs! Is there any place without zombies? Will Columbus’ rules actually help him survive? Will Wichita and Little Rock learn to depend on other people? Will Tallahassee ever get that twinkie? All of this and more will be answered right here, on Zack’s Corner! This movie is a blast and it is a time machine to our youth! We have a guest in this week along for the very nostalgic ride! In this film we see Frank use the puzzle box to unleash Pinhead and the other cenobites on himself. When he runs away, the fun really begins. What will happen to Frank? Who else might this affect? This week we bring you week two of our five weeks of horror for Halloween with The Fog (1980). In this film, we are in the sleepy seaside town of Antonio Bay. The town is celebrating its 100th Birthday and its rich history. Through a few discoveries we find out that things may not be as squeaky clean as they would have hoped. Bad things begin to happen as a terrible evil rolls into town in the form of a dense glowing fog. What is in the fog? What secrets are hiding in the church? Sorry everybody Dutch escaped the cage we keep him in between shows. He seems to have gotten into the audio equipment, and recorded a solo episode. We thought it couldn't hurt to put it up here for you to listen to. He rambled about the film The Big Year and why despite it's mediocrity there is something to love about it. 

This week we start our month of horror for Halloween with Would You Rather (2013)! In this film, we meet Iris a woman who is in a bit of a financial crunch. She has to take care of her sick brother without help from anybody. It is a huge financial strain and Iris has to find a way to make money to keep him alive. Enter Shepard Lambrick and The Lambrick Foundation. Mr. Lambrick offers Iris a spot at a dinner party where a game will be played for money. Iris thinks this may be too good to be true but really has no choice but to go. What follows is a dark and twisting journey through the dinner party and game. What might happen at the party? Could there be something bad about to happen? What is Iris willing to do to win? All of these questions will be answered right now, on Zack’s Corner! This week we watched Shakes the Clown, in this movie we get a look into the life of Shakes, a birthday party clown who lives in the city of Pulukaville, a city full of clowns. Although not the most ubiquitous movie on our list, there were some good moments with fun laughs and even an unexpected cameo by a very familiar face. 

This week we bring you the hilarious mid 90's classic Clueless (1995)! In this film, we see high school socialite Cher in her day to day life. With her best friend Dionne by her side life seems great. But with slipping grades and a change in social hierarchy, life for Cher becomes difficult. And you thought high school would be easy. As if! How will Cher adapt to the ever changing high school landscape? What will she do to reverse her fortunes? Without her friends who will she turn to for help? Will she ever pass that drivers test? This week on Zack's Corner we have a double feature! In our second offering we bring you the amazing movie Monster Trucks (2016)! In this film we have an evil oil company Terravex who accidentally unearth a creature while drilling for oil. Our hero is Tripp a high school student and car mechanic. While tinkering at the junkyard that he works at Tripp finds the creature that had escaped from Terravex in his truck. It is a curious find and Tripp is not the only one to take notice. Terravex desperately wants to recapture the creature so they can keep drilling for oil at the site. Tripp with the help of his tutor Meredith, race against time and Terravex to return Creech to his natural habitat and his family. Will they be able to return Creech or will Terravex thwart them and capture the creature? All of this and more right now, on Zack's Corner! Oh and before you go, just a friendly reminder.
