The Podcast Inside Your House - Horror Stories

"Throughout the centuries, the Hopewell Earthworks have been largely ignored. Indians who encountered the earthworks 300 years ago did not know what they were. When the white settlers came in the 1800s, they looked at the earthworks in amazement, then plowed them under. Many now sit under fields, roadbeds, railroad tracks, buildings, and even old army barracks. Only a dozen or so in Ohio have been preserved."

Oh boy, it's time for our annual bits and pieces episode! This time, we're bringing you three terrifying tales from writer and artist Gloomara. You can find his writing on Reddit and his art on Instagram. I first discovered his work on the Tales From the Creeps subreddit, which I highly recommend checking out if you're a fan of Nosleep stories and creepypastas.

This story was originally published in 1925 in Hutchinson's Magazine. Written by E.F. Benson, the tale follows a businessman traveling along the southern coast of England. On his way to meet an acquaintance for a golf trip, he finds himself mesmerized by the strange beauty of a small coastal town. One that appears to contain tides that follow no logical pattern, and strange bird calls that conform to no known species.

While I was writing this one, the working titles were "Keyword Optimized SEO Title" and "Generic Clickbaity Nosleep Title."

But in addition to poking fun at Nosleep titles, this one did take a lot of inspiration from the 2014-2018 Nosleep era, a time I remember very fondly.
