Caring for aging loved ones can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to navigate it alone. In this episode of The 10 in 10, we sit down with Kimberly Akers, Certified Senior Advisor®, Certified Dementia Practitioner®, and co-owner of Amada Senior Care Phoenix and the East Valley, to talk about what families really need to know when it comes to senior care.
Kimberly leads with compassion, expertise, and lived experience. Her journey began in education, where she spent over a decade as a middle school teacher supporting families through challenging transitions. Her path shifted personally when she became a caregiver for her grandmother and later her stepfather after a dementia diagnosis—experiences that ignited her passion for helping seniors age with dignity and support.
In this conversation, Kimberly shares insights from working with families across a wide range of caregiving situations, including long-distance caregiving, blended families, and well-spouse caregiving. Her ability to understand multiple perspectives makes her a trusted guide for families facing complex elder care decisions.
Beyond her work with Amada Senior Care, Kimberly is deeply involved in her community. She serves on the boards of Neighbors Who Care and her HOA in South Chandler and is actively engaged with the Southwest Veterans Chamber of Commerce, continuing her mission to strengthen and support the community she serves.
In this episode, we discuss:
