Cleo Lockhart is a Denver-raised poet and novelist currently attending school in Portland, Oregon. An alum of Denver School of the Arts, they discovered and cultivated their passion for writing in the school's seven-year Creative Writing program, and are now studying the history and literature of Theatre at Lewis & Clark College. They have published works in collections including Rare Byrd Review, High Shelf Review and And We Created Worlds, and they published their first novel, The Well Where the World Ends, in July of 2022. Their poetry often settles into genres of the surreal, dreamlike, and magical realist, and topics such as queerness, belonging, and storytelling.

As a very young child Stan became fascinated with the rhythmic storytelling of song lyrics and the diamond shape of haikus. Stan writes to a melody he hears in his head and originally wrote song lyrics. Having never learned to play an instrument or read music Stan transitioned to poetry. Stan started attending Friday night open mic poetry at the Mercury Cafe in the 90's, became one of the hosts in the early 2000's. Stan was one of the editors/publishers of a poetry zine based on the Merc poetry scene, The Mercury Reader, for which he received The James Ryan Morris Memorial Tombstone Award. Stan also has a self published poetry book, "Moon Of Mercury". Stan was also a public radio DJ from 2002 to 2015. Stan started a monthly poetry salon at RPO gallery in 2022, and hopes to have a new poetry collection out soon, "The Denver Sad".

Eli is a Denver based poet/musician/event organizer/unicorn. He is also one of the organizers for the Mercury Cafe slam that happens every Sunday at 7:30pm Eli has been artsy for a very long time in facts he is so hip hop that got him into college but then he drop all his classes cause he kept dropping knowledge.

Writers Block is a poetry workshop that happens every Wednesday at 9pm at Mi Chantli and we hope to see you there.

Stephen Baird is a Colorado Native whose lyric poetry sprouted over break-beats on the Chicago lakefront during his undergraduate pursuit for the meaning of life. By the end of his decade in Chicago he had refined his metaphysical style, completed his first EP (Bandcamp), and achieved a degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Another eight years in Seattle offered real life experience of stifled inspiration, trying to make relationships work in unfamiliar environments. After eighteen years away, Stephen returned home to Colorado at the beginning of 2022, bringing a resolve to use his poetry and music to offer liberating twists of concept to the listener or reader. His poetic imagery draws from the ink wells of both Taoist Alchemy and Western Mysticism, knowing that the reawakening of natural harmony sets one free from the trap of artificial and oppressive sense-of-self inherited from our “Modern” society.

My name is Dominick I go by Dom. I been in Colorado for three years and looking forward to the next 10-15 years here. I'm madly in love with the city of Denver. I'm a poet that stumbled into literary art. The goal is to a raise a daughter and retire my mom. I'm here for the city and like everybody else serving a purpose I want to be used not misused. Write on!

Bailey O'Sullivan is a Denver based poet originally from Chicago. She describes her entry into writing poetry as having "tripped and fallen" into it. Now, if life is an ever-changing ocean, writing is her life raft. Bailey hopes through her poetry to inspire solidarity in the face of the chaos we face and the shared experiences that we all have. Her goals include writing a book of poetry, joining a competitive poetry team, and performing at arts festivals. After that, "the sky's the limit."
