Another day, another end of the "work week," comes, and we are seeing the various sides of local government in Muncie, Indiana, start to stack up in what could become a "budget battle" coming for 2025.
Various things are starting to make Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey question what is truly happening behind the scenes in the Ridenour Administration.
What are they hiding? Is a looming financial crisis in Muncie's future? Bilbrey breaks all this down and discusses his thoughts on what's ahead.
Also, Bilbrey covers a bit more about the Jennifer McCormick interview on 93.1 wibc from Wednesday, August 7th, 2024.

Finally! Four and a half years in (one full term and a half year into term two), and Muncie, Indiana, Mayor Dan Ridenour might FINALLY be ready to start improving communication in Muncie!
Citizens of Muncie received "BREAKING NEWS" out of City Hall Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, as a Press Release dropped stating that the Ridenour Administration's 5th Communications Director, Michele Owen, was leaving that position as of Friday, August 9th.
Rumors started to fly that the Mayor had picked a replacement quickly - a local politician named Amber Greene. (Greene happens to be a friend of Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey's.)
Bilbrey quickly went into overdrive, and while he could not get in touch with Greene first thing today (Wednesday, August 7th), he did hear from sources at Muncie City Hall. They confirmed that she was in the building, and it looked like the rumors were correct!
A second Press Release on the matter was released today (Wednesday), stating that Greene had been tapped as the sixth Communications Director!
Greene has been an up-and-coming "conservative" republican voice within the City of Muncie and Delaware County. She currently serves as a member of the Delaware County Redevelopment Commission and has run for Delaware County Council twice, coming up short of victory in both races.
Beyond politics, Greene is a married mother of three. She has worked in sales and consulting and is a small business entrepreneur.
Mayor Ridenour stated, “Amber's strong communication and relationship-building skills will be a great asset to the City of Muncie. I am excited to bring her on board.”
Greene was sworn in on Wednesday morning and will assume duties immediately.
Will this be good for the citizens and the City of Muncie? Bilbrey thinks it is a step in the right direction... he goes into further detail in this episode!
Also, the Muncie Board of Works meeting is covered...
In other political news, Russ Willis, the Madison County Republican Party Boss, found himself in hot water today as Contributing Correspondent Dr. Katherine Callahan officially raised questions about the "Party's financial filings" and Willis and others' involvement. She stops in to briefly discuss that issue!

Special Guest: Dr. Katherine Callahan.
This is it! The Big Review!
With Producer Kate's assistance, hosts Kristopher H. Bilbrey and Brandon Rudd detail the recent "property tax reform plans" rolled out during the 2024 election season.
Mike Braun (Republican Candidate for Governor of Indiana) released his "property tax reform" plan on Friday, July 26th, 2024. However, only three days later, on Monday, July 29th, 2024, the Braun campaign walked back various points of his plan. Braun is currently working on a "revamped plan," but it has not been released as of the broadcast of this episode on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024.
Donald Rainwater (Libertarian Candidate for Governor of Indiana) released his first "property tax reform" plan during his 2020 campaign for Governor. Since then, he has reworked and revamped a few aspects here and there, but he has had a plan in place for the last four years.
Jennifer McCormick (Democratic Candidate for Governor of Indiana) has yet to release a plan related to "property tax reform." This is a significant issue for many Hoosiers. Will not having a plan at this point hurt her campaign? Will a plan be forthcoming? Or is the campaign simply focusing on the various other issues facing Indiana?
Then there is the wildcard...
District 33 State Representative JD Prescott (Republican from Union City) has been elected & re-elected to the same office for three consecutive terms and is up for re-election for his fourth term in 2024. During his time in office, he has shown no initiative with this issue, or anything for that matter - NOW, ALL THE SUDDEN - ten days after his party's Candidate for Governor (Braun) releases his "plan." Prescott appeared on 93.1 WIBC to announce some half-cocked "property tax reform" plan, which left many people scratching their heads!
Which plan is the best?
What candidate truly cares?
Will Indiana get some form of "property tax reform?"
Why is this such an issue still, with Indiana being (and having been) a supermajority Republican state?
Where does Micah Beckwith (Republican Candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Indiana) fit into this?
What about 93.1 WIBC's Rob Kendall?
What in the hell is really going on here?
DOES ANYONE REALLY KNOW? - DOES ANYONE TRULY CARE?
Bilbrey, Brando, and Kate will analyze everything thoroughly and add the commentary you have come to expect from them!

Today, Monday, August 5th, 2024, has been one hell of a day!
Since it was the first Monday of the month, several government meetings took place, including the Delaware & Randolph County Commissioners Meetings (both at 9 a.m.), the Winchester City Council Meeting (at 6 p.m.), and the Muncie City Council Meeting (at 645 p.m.).
Also, the Madison County Election Board held a 'Special Meeting' (at 10 a.m.). The Clerk's Office had posted a notice on Thursday, August 1st, 2024. The meeting was to determine the outcome of the Complaint filed by citizen and voter Rob Jozwiak against Republican Party Chairman & Election Board President Russ Willis.
And then, as if all that wasn't enough, District 33 State Representative JD Prescott appeared on the 'Kendall & Casey Show' on wibc 93.1FM to outline "his - PLAN B" Property Tax Reform Plan... which, at least in the minds of The Political Spotlight team should be raising some serious questions!
So, to keep all that straight and to keep Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey on track, the team has called in reinforcements!
Both contributing correspondents, Audie "The 10th Councilman" Barber, and Dr. Katherine Callahan, "The Mad Woman From Madison County," will be on hand throughout the episode to assist Producer Kate in keeping Bilbrey rolling and giving the audience the very best in political commentary from Bilbrey, Kate, Niles, Audie, and Katherine!
Pack a lunch (and maybe a snack) and get here early... or hit the sack, get some sleep, eat a good breakfast, and watch this via replay, fully rested and ready to go! But no matter what, THIS WILL NOT BE A SHOW TO MISS! IT IS A MUST WATCH!

Special Guest: Niles Thornburg.
This 254th episode is a "follow-up" to episode 237: "The Least Tolerable Infringement!" (Episode 237 was before the show switched to BOTH Video & Audio formats... in order to listen to episode 237, you will have to click the following link: https://youtube.com/live/9PVoIFF8BTk . . . episode 237 was Bilbrey reviewing his filing in the suit. Againg to listen to and or watch that episode, click the following link: https://youtube.com/live/9PVoIFF8BTk . . .)
In this episode, Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey breaks down Henry County, Indiana, Sheriff John M. Sproles's most recent legal filing in the Federal Civil Rights violation lawsuit: Bilbrey v Sproles # 1:23-cv-01259-RLY-MJD. The suit was filed in the United States District Court Southern District of Indiana - Indianapolis Division.
Sproles' filing, titled: 'MEMORANDUM OF LAW IN SUPPORT OF DEFENDANT'S CROSS-MOTION SUMMARY JUDGMENT AND RESPONSE IN OPPOSITION TO PLAINTIFF'S MOTION FOR PARTIAL SUMMARY JUDGEMENT' was filed by Sheriff Sproles' attorney nearly two weeks after Bilbrey's motion was filed, so that is interesting. That said, it is now at the point where both sides wait for the judge to either rule in favor of one or the other or deny both of them, pushing it closer to going to court!
Bilbrey fully believes that Sproles' filing is weak for many reasons, mainly because Bilbrey is fighting to PROTECT THE FIRST AMENDMENT! Standing on the side of the founding fathers can not be wrong!

The prevalence of subpar governance is a matter of concern. It is evident at all levels, from local to state to national, in every community, big or small. It is truly a pandemic!
Politics today is like a grim scene from the Dark Ages, when people, in the grip of famine, would start a "stew" with whatever leftover food they had. They would keep adding to it, even if the meats they added were old and rancid. They called it a "Perpetual Stew!"
That is very similar to our political climate right now... we never fully "dump the pot" and start fresh and new! We continue stirring in the same old rancid and rotten politicians, hoping for a better outcome... but that can never and will never be! UNTIL WE CLEAN THE POT... CLEAN THE SLATE!
From Muncie and Delaware County to Anderson and Madison County, Winchester and Randolph County, New Castle and Henry County... and your neck of the woods! In your towns, cities, counties, and various states!
How can we ever hope for better government on the National scene?
Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey discusses all this in an attempt to empower the audience. It's time for the people to understand that they have the power to toss out the 'Perpetual Stew' and demand better governance!
