A group of gentlemen in a New York writers club have just sat down for their after-dinner coffee. They are discussing the evolution of stories and it is brought up how, due to the many different human emotions, thousands of stories can be generated from just a few possible scenarios.

Perigi's Wonderful Dolls is a 1955 science fiction short story written and adapted by George Lefferts for the radio drama series X Minus One. It was originally aired without commercials by NBC on June 5, 1955, and later rebroadcast on January 18, 1956. Comparisons have been raised between several aspects of this story and the Twilight Zone episode "Living Doll". However, having aired eight years before "Living Doll", "Perigi's Wonderful Dolls" is one of the first radio broadcasts to pioneer the killer toy horror genre.

The Burning Court was the second story produced under the Suspense banner, but premiered a full two years after the show's first production, The Lodger, playing for the first time on June 17, 1942. For this reason, many consider The Burning Court to be the first official episode of the series.

X Minus One is an American half-hour science fiction radio drama series that was broadcast from April 24, 1955, to January 9, 1958, in various timeslots on NBC. Known for high production values in adapting stories from the leading American authors of the era, X Minus One has been described as one of the finest offerings of American radio drama and one of the best science fiction series in any medium.

An expedition to Mars finds all the Martians dead due to chickenpox brought to them by previous Earthmen expeditions. All the men except for one set about destroying Martian artifacts. 

This is the first of three adaptions for the ill-fated Suspense audition of 1940. It is believed that Joan Harrison, Alfred Hitchcock’s right-hand assistant, may have penned that script, with some additional work before broadcast by Harold Medford. It was directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starring Herbert Marshall

"The Man In The Moon". An S. O. S. is heard from the moon...and with good reason! The closing billboard and system cue have been deleted. The script was previously used on "Dimension X" on July 14, 1950, and subsequently on "Future Tense" on July 1976. The program was rebroadcast on "Monitor" in Apri 1974.

Adapted from T. S. Stribling’s 1926 short story of the same name.

The story is about the investigation of the murder in Trinidad of a young bride a few hours after the marriage. An American tourist is caught up in the investigation.
