Are you driven by achievement? or do you chase recognition over truth about yourself? Today on Bold Steps, how God gives real and lasting value and worth and a way out of… the position trap.
Luke 4:9-11 says, The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here.10 For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully; 11 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’
This temptation isn’t about Jesus saving Himself, it’s about being tempted to elevate Himself to a position of authority before the right time. Our focus will be about how you see yourself and where you get your value from. The “Position Trap” says that you get this by being honored by other people and proving it with your actions and achievements. This goes for “religious” people too—it’s NOT about proving your spirituality! It affects every area of our life and can seriously trip us up in our walk with God.
