Gather up your listening ears and get a nice blanket, maybe some snacks or a warm beverage and come into storytime! This time, we explore a cryptid from Mongolia, all the ghost stories that surround the Minnesota State Fair, and a whistling paranormal entity that follows people past state lines.
Davis first starts us off with a cryptid in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia that regaled the world in the 1920s. Roy Chapman Andrews traveled to the country in 1922 and found out way more than he meant to with this cryptid that has death in its name.
Then Lisa takes us to the MN State Fair. A land of beer, great food, butter sculptures, and ghosts? Yes, that's right, ghosts! We all go this week and Lisa decided it was time for us to get scared before engorging ourselves on all this fatty food.
And Jake takes us home with a dark paranormal entity that has followed at least one person from Michigan to South Dakota. And no matter what you do, it seems to keep whistling and going after you, but to do what? Who knows.
All this in the fifth edition of storytime as presented by the Possibly Paranormal Podcast. And the 119th episode of this great podcast! TPPP 119: Storytime 5.

Deep in the mud pits of Iceland, we come across a small cluster of hot springs/mud pools that are not really able to be in. No, they are way too acidic. But that doesn't stop people from going by and a witch from continuing to possibly be alive around there. Or maybe she isn't alive anymore? You'll have to listen to find out.
Listen to Lisa turn into Lisa Nye the Science Guy and explain hot springs to us, with way more puns than your average Bill Nye episode. Listen to Jake as he talks about the witch that was lured into one of these pits after her death by a simple cat toy. And listen to Davis as he attempts to say word in Icelandic, Klingon, and Simlish.
This is the 118th episode of The Possibly Paranormal Podcast and our first jaunt into Iceland. This island has so much more for us to explore, but we're going to start in these mud pools. So grab your swimsuit, hop in these hot springs and enjoy this episode. TPPP 118: Gunnuhver.

We find ourselves at an old Dutch East Indies Railroad company building that has a name we could never put fit into this descriptions, so we'll stick with calling it Lawang Sewu, which is Javanese for Thousand Doors. And there are as many scary stories in this places as there are doors. Davis didn't want to be scared, but he chose the wrong spot.
Listen to Davis cower, whimper, and have some fun with various door-related questions. Lisa's going to hit you with a very bloody history that most surrounds World War 2 and all the atrocities that happened during that. Well, Brendan Fraser makes a few references here, but even more than that, we talk about a few of the pharaohs that surround the making of these pyramids. We also talk about a few of the misconceptions about the building of the pyramids that blew our minds. And hopefully we don't get cursed for walking into these places, but we might.
Listen to Lisa as she dives into the deep history of these pyramids, including just how they got made and how there may have been gold involved? Listen to Davis quiz these two on the modern and ancient seven wonders of the world, and a few places that didn't make the cut. Pour a little out this week for our soundboard, for we will only see it from here on out if it becomes a ghost or some other paranormal entity. Because of that, it's time for us to go through some of our favorite and scarier moments of the podcast.
Lisa takes us back to he history all about the Manchac Swamp, one of the scarier stories she ever told. It involves bridges and the swamp itself. Not normally does Davis ever squirm during the history section, but this one got all of us to feel uncomfortable.
Davis brings us back to the singing days when he did the whole thing for the Akershus Fortress and the musical introduction to Norway. If the singing scares you, then this part counts as scary. If it doesn't then you will get a nice relief before we get into the scary stories.
And Jake tells two of his scariest stories from the past year. Starting with Daksa Island and ending with Bhangar Fort. Each story scarier than the last and sure to make your July feel a little more like October. Complete with music and everything.
All this on the 112th episode of the Possibly Paranormal Podcast. We've got a new soundboard on the way and we'll be back next week with The Pyramids of Giza. Until then! TPPP 112: The Death of the Soundboard.

It's time for another Storytime! Our fourth edition of this new episode type, but our last for a little while! We've got three new stories for you that are going to knock your socks off and make you wonder just how scared you can get. Or maybe just entertain you. Yeah, probably just entertain you.
Listen to Davis talk about his own personal paranormal story. This one involves a black mirror, but not the TV show one. The scrying mirror one. And it involves the song Memory from Cats. Is there anything scarier than that song? Yeah, we didn't think so.
Listen to Lisa get sucked into the deep of the ocean exploring some of the sounds and sights of the ocean, probably inspired by some of the recent Titanic adventures that have been clogging our news stories for the past few weeks.
And Jake takes us home with some of the scariest stories about the dead fog that has haunted Ireland for some time. And some of the stories about how they chose to deal with their dead. Mostly, they just didn't want them to come back as zombies, so they took extreme measures to ensure that would never happen.
All this on our fourth Storytime and out 111th episode of The Possibly Paranormal Podcast. If you are interested in sharing your story or submitting your location, go to our website, https://www.tpppod.com and submit yours there. TPPP 111: Storytime 4.
