On today's episode of The PCP we DIDN'T take a day off so we could bring you Ferris Bueller's Day Off. This film, released in 1986 follows one student and his quest for the perfect sluff day as his friend Cameron wrestles with his place in the world while trying to be a little more like Ferris. Listen in as we discuss elements behind and in front of the scenes as we discuss Hughes, Ruck, and the tragic circumstances that led to a detour in Broderick's career while essentially ending Grey's. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
**Content and Trigger Warning** Join us today as we break down The Breakfast Club, the greatest teen movie of all time by the 80s movie maestro himself, John Hughes. On today's episode Matt and Drew examine Vernon, Bender, and the other characters that make up the titular group as they spend 8 hours in a Saturday detention coming to terms with, while still fighting against, growing into an adult and losing childhood wonder. Will you walk on by? Will you call my name?
Weeping willow with your tears running down,
why do you always weep and frown?
Is it because he left you one day?
is it because he could not stay?
On your branches he would swing,
do you long for the happiness that day would bring?
He found shelter in your shade.
You thought his laughter would never fade.
Weeping willow, stop your tears.
There is something to calm your fears.
You think death has ripped you forever apart.
But I know he'll always be in your heart.
There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.
-Friedrich Nietzsche

This week on the PCP, we discuss the iconic movie Mean Girls! This 2004 comedy by Tina Fey was meant to highlight and critique the gossiping and bullying toxic girl culture that existed, and still exists today. The movie resulted in being one of the most quotable and popular movies of a generation. Today we invite our training technical producer (and Drew's daughter) Keeley onto the show to discuss her opinion of this, one of her favorite movies, as well as that same mean girl culture she sees in her own school (Shoutout to this introvert for getting on the mic!) So get into the show, loser, we're going podcasting!
