What they DON'T tell you about surgery at Elite Body Sculpture.
If you're having AirSculpt lipo or any other procedure at Elite, you need to make sure you're doing proper aftercare! This week, we posted a picture of the post-op care sheet from Elite, and it was scarce as far as post-op instructions, to say the least.
This is still surgery! You need to treat your recovery the same way you would if you had surgery anywhere else.
It's the instructions on this sheet, like only wearing your chin garment at night after the first 48 hrs, that cause fibrosis, complications, and painful swelling.

You'll hear a million different timelines. Everything from 2 months with 12 hours a day to 8 months to a year.
A few facts about garments post-lipo.
1. A garment is a container to hold your tissue while it's healing. It will not get rid of swelling. Your Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage is what triggers the body to reabsorb swelling and urinate it out. You could be in a garment for a year and still not be healed because of swelling and fibrosis.
2. Garments need to be worn 24/7 until you're healed. A garment is similar to a cast on a broken arm. If at 6 weeks your arm is still broken, they put the cast back on 24/7, not just for 12 hours a day.
3. You still need to be wearing your garment if you have fibrosis and swelling. Your garment is your body armor. It protects your sore, swollen tissue, but the goal is to get rid of the swelling and fibrosis so you can get out of the garment. This means that if you work on getting rid of the swelling and fibrosis, you can get out of the garment faster.

If you're planning to get surgery overseas (Columbia, D.R., Turkey, etc.), you must ensure you're prepared!
The complications, the horror stories, & all the problems happen when we're not checking surgeon credentials, or booking with medical tourism agencies that have no accreditation, they don't always verify the credentials of the surgeon, surgery center, or place you're staying & THE BIGGEST MISTAKE...your post-op care.
The laws, healthcare, and regulations are very different in other countries.
Your post-op care and surgery should still follow the health & safety guidelines that we have in the US.
Just because they perform incisional drainage & throw you in the tightest garment possible doesn't mean it's medically correct.

Everything you need to know about breast fat transfer. Fat transfer is a procedure that involves liposuction to one area of the body and injecting the healthy fat into another part of the body, like the breasts. You see everywhere people with blood pouring out of them, but that's not ACTUALLY draining swelling.
Swelling doesn't drain out of your body. It actually drains back INTO your body, to be peed out.

We see all these treatments that can take forever, they're expensive, and are supposed to work for cellulite, but how do we know they're actually working?
Cellulite is a very common, harmless skin condition that causes lumpy, dimpled flesh on the thighs, hips, buttocks, and abdomen. It's the appearance of dimples on the skin and is caused by several factors.
One of those common factors is swelling.
When the fibrous band of connective tissue between the skin and muscle layer becomes tight, it pulls on the skin, causing it to dimple. This tightness can happen from:
1. The fat cells enlarge by weight gain, putting pressure on the skin from underneath.
2. Skin laxity due to age.
3. The most common one is swelling due to hormone changes such as puberty, pregnancy, and Menopause, congesting tissue.

What is a frozen shoulder, how to fix it & treatment with Manual Lymphatic Drainage?
Frozen shoulder is so common & doctors usually just tell you to go to physical therapy, get steroid injections, and do exercises that sometimes work but take forever.
