  • Power Project Episode #25: Lets Talk About Sex with Heather McGilvray
This week we're talking about our hottest topic yet! We're talking about sex in marriage and what it looks like for us as christian wives. Are we supposed to be having sex? Should we want to have sex? What is allowed in the bedroom? Can we do THAT as Christians? No topic is off limits in this episode.

I recently hosted a Galentine's brunch where we discussed love & marriage. Heather McGilvray did the session over sex and the feedback was phenomenal!

Heather is a licensed professional counselor who specializes in working with young children and their families to help meet their emotional, spiritual, and psychological needs, moving them towards a happier and healthier life. While running a business and raising her two beautiful daughters, Heather is also passionate about building a tribe of women that can lean on and learn from each other. She believes that we should all be able to discuss our struggles with one another and grow together. Heather's authenticity and vulnerability are the reasons we knew she would be perfect to talk about keeping it spicy in the bedroom. She believes that too many Christian wives aren't talking openly about the subject and has chosen to share vulnerably with all of us.

  • Power Project Episode #24: How to Fall in Love with Yourself
This week I'm talking about how the importance of loving yourself. There is a broad spectrum of opinions surrounding this topic.

However, serving the population of women that I do, I am a firm believer in self love. I don’t believe it has to be a narcissistic quality. Instead, I believe it's simply loving yourself as God created you and seeing yourself as he does. It’s a clear view of accepting yourself as a sinner in need of a savior and owning your weaknesses as well as your strengths. I think you can know where you fall short without beating yourself up, and also, love the strengths that God gave uniquely to you. You can thank Him for those strengths and use them to bring glory to him.

Some resources that I believe will help you learn to love yourself are

  • Power Project Episode#19: LYNDSIE'S LIGHT: Breaking the Stigma of Mental Health.
In this week's episode, we are talking about mental health, depression awareness, and suicide prevention as a dedication to a dear friend of mine that we lost last year. I speak with Andrea Thomas Hand, singer and songwriter out of Nashville. Andrea has toured with Carrie Underwood as a backup singer, appeared on the Voice, and is currently working on a television show, "The Sound of Hope" in which she will raise awareness for mental health while encouraging alternative solutions for a lifestyle change through spiritual and mental steps rather than turning to negative influences and toxic choices. The show will eventually evolve into a non-profit as well as a tour. Andrea's family was closely affected by suicide last year as she lost her cousin to the battle with depression. She has since committed to using her voice to create a platform for this conversation.

You can find Andrea at wwww.andreathomasofficial.com. She's on Instagram @andreathomas and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/andreathomasmusic/.

My friend, Kristin Navarro with Whitehorse Steakhouse at Oak Meadow Ranch also shares with us about her family's struggle with losing a loved one to the same mental health battle. Kristin is real and raw and committed to supporting families that have gone through this same tragedy. She discusses the family's struggles with PTSD and depression after the loss. As a result of this experience along with her background in law enforcement and first hand experience with suicide, she and her family have founded a non-profit organization. The Renay E. Watt Memorial supports suicide awareness and prevention.
You can find Kristin on Instagram @mrs.navarro_dallastx and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1035735632

And, wrapping the episode up is my dear friend and Pastor's wife, Dawn Simmons. Dawn provides lay minister counsel and speaks to the stigmas surrounding mental health within the church and the christian community. She speaks to the tangible steps one should take in the midst of depression and how the church should be there to love on them without providing judgement.

If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts, or have questions, you can email her: [email protected].

As always, we would appreciate it if you could subscribe, share, and write a review, that will help us get this story out to more people that need to hear this message.

Terra and her sister witnessed her mother meet an outwardly charming gentleman that turned out to be a master conman. The story plays out with more drama than one could have written for a blockbuster movie plot.
