  • Power Project Episode #85: Overcoming Limiting Beliefs
It is my greatest desire in life to help women see themselves as who God created them to be and step into their calling.
We find ourselves at a time where people worldwide are questioning whether or not they will continue on the same path they were on before, or if this is a time for a new start. I hear the stories of what they would do if they could, but I also hear the self-doubt and fear surrounding the ideas.
While people, in general, share a common theme of a limited mindset, I see women specifically experiencing self-doubt on a large scale. Why do women give into such limiting beliefs? From highly successful women to those that have endured severe trauma in their lives, the universal theme is that they just don’t believe in themselves.
They believe the lies that they are
    Not smart enough.
    Not qualified enough.
    Not educated enough.
    Not young enough
    Not old enough
    Not strong enough
    Not brave enough
When I talk about power words with women, and ask them who God would say they are, oftentimes Enough is the answer. However, why is it so hard for us to actually believe?
I have an exercise that I do with my mentees that I want to share with you at home. This exercise is intended to help the student realize skills that they currently have, and areas that they need to work on while coming up with a vocational plan. But for you at home, this is a way to realize your strengths and become more confident in life. Because as we realize our strengths and gain confidence, we begin to see ourselves through the eyes of our creator, and in turn, stop believing the lies that Satan is whispering to us.
—Take out a pen and a piece of paper and write down whatever it is that you are dreaming of doing in life. If you have multiple ideas, list the Top 3
Write Down “Three Things I do Best”. In my class, we have previously done a brain dump and dug into all of their talents and gifts. But, at this point, I encourage them to think really intently on their Top 3. This may look like “caring for others, conflict resolution, collaborating, networking, organizing, communicating, manual labor”
Second, Write Down “My Top Skills” This can be anything from public speaking, to baking pies. Whatever specific skills you have. This could be bookkeeping, data entry, painting, teaching, cooking, writing, childcare, caregiving. Get really specific on your top 3 skills. This is not a certification or education. This is what you truly bring to the table and how you serve your community.
Third, Write Down “My Main Skill Roadblocks Are”. This is where we acknowledge the areas that we are lacking in. List your top 3. By realizing our roadblocks, we can learn how to overcome them. Perhaps you lack in the technology department, you need to watch YouTube videos, read blogs, and listen to podcasts until you become more tech-savvy. Maybe you’re not great at marketing, find someone who is and do what they tell you to do. And, if you’re like I was, you don’t understand bookkeeping and accounting. Once again, find someone who does and learn from them.
Fourth, Write Down “Skills I Would Most Like to Learn” Just because we don’t know how to do something doesn’t mean we can’t learn. Determine the top 3 skills you need to help you realize your dreams and chase your goals. Write them down. Then take action to pursue them.
Fifth, Write Down “My Negative Character Traits Are” List the Top 3. These can be: insecurity, self-doubt, fearful anxious, unreliability, disorganization, disrespectfulness, undependability, indecisiveness, unforgiving, undisciplined. Be honest here. Just because you realize those character traits does not mean you stay in that place. You make a concerted effort to flip them into a positive.
Lastly, Write Down “My Greatest Character Strengths” List the Top 3. I want you to own this! Whether it is dependability, integrity, respectfulness, patience, courage, hard-working, reliability, loyalty, perseverance, self-discipline, confidence, selflessness, write those strengths down. Stand confidently in those strengths. Focus on those. When you start to doubt yourself and you fill unequipped for the call on your life, reach down and pull those character strengths out. Stand firm in those.

In the beginning of this exercise, before we get into it, I ask mentees what they are good at. Most people can’t or won’t answer the question. Even if they know what they are good at, they are not confident enough to share that. So, I throw things out. I like to start by asking them if they cook. If they do, I ask what their favorite dish to cook is. Because a good cook knows they are a good cook and take great pride in what they prepare. I love watching their face light up as they tell me about their mouthwatering fried chicken, slow-cooked ribs, or perfectly flaky crusted apple pie. I have them tell me how they prepare them and watch as they take great pride in detailing the process.
Moments later, while completing the activity, as we get to the part about skill roadblocks, I watch their eyes fall as they realize what they lack. I see their confidence begin to shrink. And I quickly ask them if they knew how to prepare their award-winning recipe before they made it the first time. I remind them of how confident they were sharing the process with me. I remind them how proud they feel when they serve that dish to anxiously awaiting friends and family. And, I remind them of the satisfaction they get when the plates are cleaned and everyone raves on how delicious the meal was. We don’t know how to do anything before we learn the process. We can stand in our strengths, realize our weaknesses and learn what we don’t yet know.
Maybe you don’t cook. But there is something in life that you are great at that at one time you did not know how to do. Singing, sewing, playing an instrument, crafting, organizing, gardening, speaking, running, working out, heck doing your hair. Whatever it is. Own that. Store it to memory. And when you begin to be overwhelmed with what you don’t yet know how to do, remember that you once didn’t know how to do this.

  • Power Project Episode #84 The Purpose of Motherhood
    Mary: Mothering During Uncertainty
In honor of Mother’s Day, I sought out to create a special motherhood episode. I considered interviewing my grandmothers and mother for the episode, but with the current situation, I wouldn’t be able to interview them in person. While I do most interviews remotely, that would be technologically challenging with my grandmas.
So, instead, I started thinking about mothers around me, who had a great story to tell that we could learn from? Who would be inspiring to you guys?
Not able to come up with the right fit, I prayed for direction. And I realized I wanted to record an episode about Mothers of the Bible. What does the Bible say about a mother? I found scriptures about a mother consoling and comforting, how Sarah waited, Hagar endured, and Rebekah believed. But, I still wasn’t finding clear direction for this episode.
Once again, I started thinking about mothers around me. I started thinking about my friends and family members that were at different stages of motherhood.
Mothers who have just found out they are expecting and are fearful and anxious
Expectant mothers who are not able to celebrate their pregnancies with friends and family
New Mothers who have had to deliver in less than ideal circumstances, with no family members present in a strange place
Mothers of infants that they are trying to protect and keep healthy
Mothers who are separated from their children and worry about their safety
Mothers who are learning to evolve in a new normal
Mothers whose older children have missed important milestones in life
Mothers who are worried about their children’s economic well-being in the future
Mothers who have had to release control of their adult children and trust that they will be safe
Motherhood is an unnerving process filled with concerns along the way. Each stage brings new concerns and worries. However, in this time of so many unknowns, we mothers find ourselves facing more fears than ever before.

And so, I’ve looked to the life of Mary, Mother of Jesus, for steps that we can take as Mothers.

Mary was a very young peasant that gave birth during a census and time of political unrest. Sound familiar? She was told that she had to return to her village of origin (Stay Home orders/Shelter in Place) close to the time of giving birth.
She was engaged to Joseph, and her unexpected pregnancy not only interrupted her upcoming wedding celebration plans but nearly cost her the relationship. So, if your child has missed a major life moment such as graduation or a wedding, you can look to Mary and the way she handled her plans being completely wrecked.
Luke 1:26-31: When the angel Gabriel appeared before Mary to tell her that she was pregnant, he told this young unwed girl that she was “the Lord was with her, and Do Not Be Afraid.” He also told her that “Nothing is impossible with God.”
Luke 1:38 shows us that Mary responded with “Let it be according to your word.”
Three things that Mary did in the very beginning that we can strive to do as Mothers today
    1. Believe that God can do what he says he can do.
    2. Submit to his will
    3. See his will fulfilled

Much like those of you that are expecting today, Mary had to give birth in a strange place, without being surrounded by friends or family, and it probably didn’t look like her ideal birth plan. She could only celebrate with the three shepherds that were there.
When King Herod heard news of the birth, she was told her son was in danger and had to flee from Bethlem to Egypt where she, Joseph, and her son had to live in isolation, away from friends and family, and on a tight budget.
She did two things here that we can apply to our time of economic uncertainties and social distancing:
    1. Mary trusted
    2. Mary obeyed

When Jesus became a man and began ministering and performing miracles, he showed Mary that he was no longer dependent upon her but that he was under the authority of God. She had to release control and allow God to use him as he desired.

Through his time of persecution, Mary watched her son be ridiculed, betrayed, deserted, falsely accused, and eventually crucified. She did not interfere with God’s plan for his life. Instead, she stood by courageously, even in the final moments.

Jesus, following God’s will, obeyed his mother as a child, respected his mother as an adult, and took care of her by leaving her in the care of John.
We see the complete cycle of motherhood here:
Parents: Prov. 22:6 :”train up a child in the way that he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Three Key Factors that helped Mary fulfill her purpose as a Mother:
She knew what the Bible said
She knew who God had created her to be
She was faithful through it all

Whatever stage of motherhood that we find ourselves in, it is important that we remember that much like Mary, we weren’t blessed with this role because we deserved it. God poured his grace out, gifting us with these children that he has known since before we carried them in our womb. And, even in times of uncertainty, God’s provisions are abundant, and his plans are perfect.

  • Power Project Episode #83: Becca Stevens with Thistle Farms
    Becca Stevens with Thistle Farms
In Episode #83, I had the honor of sitting down with Becca Stevens, a speaker, leader, priest, entrepreneur, and the president of Thistle Farms, a multifaceted, international nonprofit. She founded the organization more than 20 years ago to provide a sanctuary and healing for women survivors of prostitution, trafficking, and addiction not historically served. She leads important conversations across the country by speaking, writing, and heading a national network of like-minded organizations. She has founded 8 justice organizations and helped raise more than $50M dollars. The New York Times, PBS, ABC World News, NPR, CNN and the White House have all highlighted Becca and her work. She is the author of 10 books and lives in Nashville with her husband, Grammy-winning songwriter Marcus Hummon, and their three sons.
Becca shared with us that this is the most important time for community, and serving others through small steps that can make a large impact.
One way she and Thistle Farms are staying connected to one another while serving their community is by participating in a weekly Zoom call where they each light a candle and recite “We light this candle for the woman that is still on the street and the woman that is trying to find her way home.”
Becca had a strong desire to work with women on the streets all her life and sought out to create justice work in a non-competitive, lavish way. Through such, she was able to create a global movement for women’s freedom that serves women who are survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction. The movement has grown to a national network of 50 affiliated partners and 30 global partners which allows affiliates to take ownership in the movement and collaborate through shared trade fashion.
Becca reminds us that “We are stronger and bigger than a virus, we are going to get through this, and on the other side we’re going to say that we never gave up.”
3 things Becca hopes we can look back and say at the end:
1. We feel good about what we went through.
    2. We became stronger, deeper, and more spiritual through the process.
    3. We were faithful throughout it all.
Becca reminds us to seek out gratitude every day in the midst of this circumstance. She encourages us through this daily quote “My glass isn’t half full. My glass is just too big. Get small again. Take those few precious drops that you’ve been given today and let it fill your cup.”
My blessing for the day was being able to finally meet Becca Stevens, and I hope to learn more from her in the future.

  • Power Project Episode #82: Stepping Out in Faith with Lynde Griggs
Lynde Griggs: Co-Founder of Belle & Sparrows, a Non-Profit for
    women, by women.
    - In Episode #82, Lynde Griggs shares with us how her life in ministry and missions led
her to co-found Belle & Sparrows. At the age of 42, while serving on the church
staff, Lynde felt the pull on her heart to propose an all women’s mission trip for her
women’s ministry group. Within two to three months, she, with the support of her
pastor and church, was able to assemble the first ever all female team of 24 women
that spent one week serving impoverished women in Guatemala.
    - Lynde found herself as an empty nester having what she refers to as a crisis of faith.
She knew that she was called to serve God’s people outside of the church, but
questioned why he would use someone like her to share the message. Although she
felt fearful and uncertain, she knew that God’s call for her life was greater than her
    self doubt.
    • She shares her personal steps for overcoming doubt and having Faith Over Fear
    1. Start with Prayer & Discernment
    2. Share your calling with trusted people in your circle and ask for prayers
    3. Take a Step of Faith
By stepping out in faith, Lynde along with her co-founder Tiffany Savage were able to
create Belle & Sparrows to be able to serve women both locally and globally. By
partnering with local organizations, volunteers are able to serve women transitioning
from homelessness as well as sexually exploited and trafficked survivors.
Internationally, Belle & Sparrows provides the opportunity to teach women in
Guatemala the necessary skills for gainful employment, and In Haiti, serve foster moms
that are caring for disabled and orphaned children. Nationally, volunteers can serve
Navajo women in New Mexico, women in transitional living in Oregon, and expecting
mothers at the pregnancy center in Waco, TX.
The Stella project is the newest endeavor for Belle & Sparrows. This will be a
transitional living home, and social enterprise where women will be able to make and
sell honey based products from their very own beehive.

While this episode was recorded before we found ourselves in this current situation, I
have found Lynde’s words to be so relevant to this preset time.
“Our lives are in seasons. Just because one season is coming to a close, doesn’t
mean that your life is coming to a close.”
She told our listeners to “Put legs on what you are learning in your bible study and step
out in faith.” She shared that we can’t make disciples if we’re not willing to go. So, we
should all take baby steps, and step by step follow the journey God has planned for us.

Visit www.bellandsparrows.org to learn more about how you can support the
organization or be involved with a mission trip. Lynde can even organize a trip for your
    women’s group.

  • Power Project Episode #81: Dear 38 Year Old Me
    TEN YEARS AGO:

Thirty Eight, The Year I will never forget.
I have to think hard as to what I did for my birthday last year.
But, I bet I never forget the year I spent my birthday in quarantine.

I have been planning this episode all year! I couldn’t wait to share what all has changed in the past ten years of my life. I couldn’t wait to share with my network how I had once felt it was too late to step into my purpose, but found out that it’s certainly not! This month should be a whirlwind for me right now! And, I should be telling you about everything that I have going on.

I know that we are all going through this together, and everyone is navigating their own trials right now. No one is truly unaffected, and I’m sure that some of you out there are feeling the same way I am.
I have found myself feeling incredibly aimless right now and feel like rather than achieving, I am simply floating.

So, for this episode, I took a literal page out of my own book where my 38 year old self tells my 19 year old self everything is going to be okay. Hopefully one day, my 76 year old self will be able to remind my 38 year old self that it all turned out great. I hope it helps you because, it actually helped me a lot.

We have to remember to trust the path that He is leading us on.

Micah 6:8 teaches us how to actually walk with God.
DO JUSTICE: Living Relationally with God and one another in the natural creation.
Reach out to neighbors, friends, and family to see how you can help them. Maybe they just need to talk, maybe they need groceries or medication, maybe they need help operating an online platform.

LOVE KINDNESS: Loving the act of being warmhearted, considerate, humane, and sympathetic.
Remember that when this is all over, we are still each other’s neighbors. There will be differing opinions, theories, beliefs, but we can choose to differ in a kind manner.

WALK WITH GOD:
How do you walk with someone? You share conversation that includes your immediate surroundings. You comment how beautiful a flower or sunset is. You talk about what is currently going on in your life. You share your concerns, fears, hopes. You experience the walk relationally with them.

  • Power Project Episode #79: Loving the Ones You're Stuck With
In Episode #79, I’m sharing my tips with ways to love the ones your stuck with right now. It’s a
crazy time to navigate, but if we can all share tips along the way, it will be easier as we go.
We were the family that always had people with us. Our kids were raised in this tribe of friends
that were like family. Our house was where everyone came to eat. If someone didn’t come
over, my kids wondered what was wrong. We didn’t vacation alone. We didn’t truly do
    anything alone as a family.
We were flooded in one time for three days and thought we were going to lose our minds
because we were so accustomed to having friends around. Up until then, we had always
thought it would be so cool to own a private island. It seemed so romantic and adventurous.
Until we were trapped on our own island of sorts without people being able to reach us. The
actual conversation my husband had at that point was “Babe, I was wrong. I don’t want to live
on an island. I love my family, but I need my friends.”
Many of you find yourself on what feels like an island right now. You’re stuck with your spouse
and kids only and you have no idea how you all are going to survive. I get it. That was us too
up until the last few years. Through some life events and growing pains, we found ourselves
choosing to spend most of our time with our immediate family. At first it was hard, I’m not
    going to lie.
Our kids were 8 and 11 and they had only known a life of being surrounded by people. The
first time we went on our boat, just the four of us they were completely confused. I’m not sure
that they knew we could take the boat out without anyone else. They asked daily who was
coming over and why it was just us.
It felt lonely and isolated. My husband and I loved each other and enjoyed each other’s
company, but we didn’t know how to be alone together. We had always had distractions in our
marriage. We had people around. If we were irritated with one another, we had a friend we
could vent to. If we wanted to avoid one another, we had friends we could escape to.
In the beginning, it was easy to turn on one another. We would let the loneliness push us to the
edge where we snapped at one another and snapped at the kids.
HOW TO LOVE THE ONES YOUR STUCK WITH
UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A NEW SITUATION FOR EVERYONE
When the kids asked who was coming over, we would be irritated and tell them that they didn’t
have to always have people around. However, we had to understand that we had created this
situation. They were accustomed to being raised in a village. We had never taught them how
to be content with one another and only our family because had always had distractions.

    EXTEND GRACE TO ONE ANOTHER
    • As we began to enjoy time with just our family, we deiced it was a great time to buy a
motorhome and take off for a 12 day journey. We had dreamt of owning a motorhome for ten
years and were so excited about this adventure. Within the first four hours of the trip, I was
regretting the purchase and wondering if it was too soon to late to back out. While we had
gotten used to spending more family time together, we were not accustomed to being so

together in such closed quarters. The kids were constantly wrestling, fighting, or asking for
something. My husband needed me to help him with navigation, and needed things from
me. I needed peace and quiet to get work done. At the end of day 2, we were all ready to
murder each other. This was when it hit me that we had never really spent that much
uninterrupted time together. So, we had to have a family conversation that looked like, Dad
apologizing for having a short temper. Mom apologizing for losing her mind and cursing.
And, the kids apologizing for being a-holes.... yeah, that was an actual conversation. And,
we all were able to extend grace to one another to learn how to navigate this new
experience. Now, that motorhome and a two week adventure is our absolute favorite family
    time! We found our groove.
    • When the kids are fighting with one another, we give them the grace to work it out because,
    it’s a lot of togetherness!
    HAVE PATIENCE
    • Know that this does not happen overnight. It takes time.
As we distanced ourselves a little more from others, we fell into the rhythm of a new normal.
My kids started to realize that when we were the only ones in the boat, they could wakeboard
for as long as they wanted to and not have to take turns with all the other kids.
    • Know that each day spent without friends or external family around is one more day spent
growing closer to your immediate family.

TAKE PART IN EACH OTHER’S ACTIVITIES
Realize that your routine doesn’t look the same when it is only your immediate family. You,
your husband, and your children do not have friends around to participate in the activities that
    they normally would.
    • If your kids play baseball or jump on trampolines with neighborhood kids, play video games,
be the parent that takes interest in that activity and fill that void. Do the activity that their
    friends normally would.
    • I love a fire pit and glass of wine on the patio with girlfriends. Instead of girlfriends, my
husband has stepped in and filled that void and it makes my heart so very happy. Can I tell
    you, it’s completely awesome?
    • But, he’s willing to do so because when my husband wants to watch one of his car shows or
work on something in the shop, I hang out with him. Heck, this week, I jumped on the back
of his dirt bike and let him take me for a ride! He was thrilled, I was terrified...
    BE FLEXIBLE
Try new things that you wouldn’t normally have done as a family. You may end up finding a
    new family favorite.
    • We’ve recently taken up hiking. I’ve teased on all of our vacations that I want to be one
of those hiking families. We hike now, talking and sharing along the path.
    • And, mushroom hunting. It’s a new family pastime that I would have never taken up if I
weren’t willing to experience new activities with just my family.
    COMMUNICATE WITH ONE ANOTHER
    • If you need a time out from the family, (like I did today while preparing this episode)
communicate that. Explain that you need the quiet time to focus on your task at hand or
    simply to have a moment.
    • Talk to your family about the situation and how while it feels weird to not have others around,
you’re grateful for the opportunity to grow closer as a family.
    • Show gratitude to one another: If we’ve been on a two day road trip and have only stopped
to sleep without the kids getting to stretch their legs, we thank them for being such awesome

road warriors. Same goes for this quarantine process. We daily thank our kids for being
such troopers in the midst of all this.

  • Power Project Episode #78: Seeking God in the Midst of a Pandemic
In Episode #78, I am sharing ways that I have sought God in the past two weeks amongst what feels like the whole world falling apart. Hopefully this will help you find some purpose amidst all of this mess.

I FOUND A MOREL MUSHROOM ON MY PROPERTY
People search the world over for this. It’s a delicacy. A specific type of mushroom that grows in the wild. It’s highly coveted. I didn’t know about it until just a few days before I happened upon this delicacy growing in my back yard. My cousin had just told me about these as he was spending isolation time driving around trying to find these in the country. It’s delicious! You can fry it up or simply sauté it. It’s a flavor as mouthwatering as that of a perfectly grilled filet mignon. I had never heard of such a thing until someone told me about it. And it was right there in my backyard, waiting for me to taste and see that it was good.
As I was spending time in nature, observing this delicacy that I had just found in my backyard, it dawned on me, In the midst of the unknown, uncertainty, sadness, sickness, and fear, people needed to know how good this God is. They needed to know how to find a peace that passes understanding in the midst of what feels like the entire world falling apart around them. But what if no one has ever told someone about this eternal love that is waiting to be plucked right out of their back yard. People should know that this earth, this life, was never the end goal. The goal was for us to all know God and find an unending grace and mercy that leads us to an eternity of childlike joy in a place where there is no worry, sickness, stress, or anxiety. In a place where there are no pandemics.

HOW TO SEEK GOD IN THE MIDST OF A PANDEMIC
GO TO GOD INSTEAD OF GOOGLE: Dig into the word. There are scriptures to guide you through every step of the way and give you peace.
    3/10/20 BOOK LAUNCH CONFERENCE CANCELLED
Exodus 9:16 “I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you MY POWER, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
Ephesians 6:10 “Finally be strong in the Lord and in HIS mighty Power.”
3/13/2020: My best friend was admitted to the hospital with 105 deg fever and the onset of what appeared to be COVID
3/17/20: BUSINESSES & SIZE OF GROUPS LIMITED, STARTED TALKING TO BECS
2 Tim. 1:7 “For God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of POWER, love, and self control.”
1 John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

PRAY: Talking to God. Just like any other relationship, you must have communication, daily.
WOKE UP WITH PRAYER OF STEADFAST ON MY HEART
I felt like Noah and no one was listening to the warning that they needed to get on the Ark. I was irritated with people’s dismissal of the situation.
Col. 4:2-3 “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us that God may open to use. Door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ…”
Col. 4:5 “Walk in Wisdom towards outsiders.”

GIVE THANKS: Even in the midst of a pandemic, there are things to be grateful for. Find the gratitude every day and thank Him for it.
    PEACE AT THE POND
I sat at the pond, watching my husband and children fishing. Thinking about what a great day we had had, baking blueberry muffins, taking a walk to drop surprise goodies on neighbor’s porches, fishing, enjoying the sunshine. I thought how the list of things completely wrong in the world should vibe overwhelming at that moment, but I was at complete and total peace. I had accepted that the only thing I could control was what was happening in my immediate household. All I could do was love my family, provide as safe of a place as possible, and trust God that all of this was part of his plan.
Phil. 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but though PRAYER and SUPPLICATION with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

LAMENT: a passionate expression of grief or sorrow. God knows your heart. He knows your pain. He knows your fear. You are not hiding anything from him. Let him know. Question him. Talk to him. (Lamentations is a collection of poems describing the destruction of Israel)
I spent two days lamenting. As I would feel myself begin to crumble and fall apart on my husband or struggle to keep it together in front of the kids, I lamented. When I felt fearful as the breath would catch in my throat and chest tighten from panic, I lamented. When the tears welled up and I couldn’t hold them back any longer I lamented.
Lamenting is not simply crying or weeping in sorrow. But instead, it is directing our sorrows immediately to God. This is asking God why, asking God how, asking God how long it will last.
God wants is to lament. He wants us to come to him in our time of sorrow. Otherwise, we’re choosing to not lean on him in our pain.
David wrote Psalm 13: 1 “How long O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?”
In the midst of my lament. I found the morel mushroom.
SUPPLICATE: ask or beg for something earnestly or humbly. If you are struggling to trust God, humbly beg him for trust. If you are trying to control things out of your control, earnestly ask him to guide you in relinquishing control. And if you are finding it hard to fear not, ask him to help you to not be afraid.
Each time I woke up feeling the onset of anxiety and panic, I told God “I trust you.” You are in control. Help me to trust you. Help me to relinquish control. Help me to realize that which is not in my control. Your ways are not mine. Every single time I woke up.
As my husband was leaving for work and I was in full fear and panic, I repeated, I trust you Lord. I asked God to protect him, our employees, and everyone he would come in contact with that day.
Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

  • Power Project Episode #77: Spread Awareness, Not Germs
In this episode, I sit down with Becs Freveletti, an Italian women with a mission on her heart.
She wants to warn Americans to spread awareness instead of germs.
Now, more than ever is a time for us to come together as a community (via technology) to learn
from one another. Thanks to social media, Becs and I were able to become “friends” over
Facebook. I had been following along with her posts from Italy documenting the COVID virus
and reached out to thank her for sharing the situation with those of us in America. She
expressed that she was concerned, unsettled, anxious, and afraid. I prayed over her. Told her
I was there if she needed someone to talk to. And, then asked if she would be willing to share
with my audience about the situation so that we could hopefully spread awareness to those not
    taking this situation seriously.
The intent of this interview is to allow you to be prepared, not panicked. Hopefully, people
listening will heed warnings and take steps to being responsible citizens in combating this
    pandemic.
The numbers have drastically jumped in the last 24 hours for the US with current numbers at
time of show notes: 3/18/20 5:30 PM CST nearing 10,000.
What Becs teaches us in this interview.
    1. Stay Home with your immediate family.
    2. When you do need to go into public, make certain it is a necessity or emergency.
    3. In public, practice social distancing: stay 6-8 feet away from others.
Disclaimer: Neither Becs Freveletti nor Brandi Voth are experts or medical doctors. They are
simply both women, mothers, and concerned citizens looking to do their part and spread
    awareness.
