Talking about stewardship is often a taboo conversation and puts many people off when it comes to church. But stewardship is so much more than talking about money.

We're approaching Pentecost Sunday on the church calendar. Pentecost is a Jewish festival but after Jesus's resurrection, He told His followers to go to Jerusalem and wait for the promised Holy Spirit, and that waiting coincided with Pentecost. Now, centuries later, we still celebrate Pentecost Sunday as the day the baptism in the Holy Spirit was given to the 120 in the upper room (and for us today) and more than 3000 were added to the Kingdom (Read Acts 1-2 here)! So here's a conversation between my Dad and I from last year about the Holy Spirit.

The Passion Week, Holy Week, the final days of Jesus's life leading up to the crucifixion and ultimately His amazing resurrection, is a week I look forward to every year! Friends THIS is our championship game, right here! This is what it's all about and I am here for it.

Growing up in an Evangelical church with a Pentecostal foundation, I never really had an understanding of lent or why it mattered. Over the last few years I have grown to appreciate the heart behind the season of preparation and repentance.
