The Cobblers welcome Mansfield Town to Sixfields on Saturday for the next League Two fixture of the 2022/23 season.

It's only been a few weeks since Northampton Town last faced the Stags. The two sides played out a 1-1 draw at Field Mill on Boxing Day.

Since then, both sides have had mixed fortunes.

Mansfield have won 1, drawn 1 and lost 2 and the Cobblers have won 1 and lost 3.

While the Cobblers have brought in goalkeeper, Tom King, Nigel Clough has had a far busier transfer window.

Ollie Hawkins and George Lapslie have both moved to Gillingham and Louis Reed (Swindon), Alfie Kilgour (Bristol Rovers) and Callum Johnson (Ross County) have come in.

Another bit of player movement has seen Danny Johnson return from his loan spell at Walsall, where he scored 12 goals in the first half of the season.

The jury is out on whether Johnson will play on Saturday or if he will be sold but Nigel Clough is sure to keep Cobblers boss, Jon Brady guessing.
