Warmth and Blessings with Cinnamon Sticks
Today, our journey to the Winter Solstice brings the comforting and energising addition of cinnamon sticks to our shrine. Cinnamon is a spice long associated with warmth, purification, and blessings. Its vibrant energy invites success, health, joy, and luck into our lives, making it a powerful addition to our sacred space as we move closer to the light of the Solstice.
The Symbolism of Cinnamon
Cinnamon’s warm, sweet aroma is a reminder of the simple joys of the season - sharing meals, cosy moments by the fire, and the comfort of connection (whether that’s with others or just having the time to re-connect with ourselves). Beyond its sensory appeal, cinnamon holds deep spiritual significance. It is used for purification and protection, warding off negative energy and inviting blessings into the home.
As a spice, cinnamon is also linked to vitality and abundance. Its rich, golden-brown colour and fragrant bark symbolise prosperity and the sweetness of life. By adding cinnamon sticks to our shrine, we set an intention to welcome warmth and positivity into our lives and to share that energy with others.

Cinnamon’s Lessons for Us
Cinnamon reminds us of the power of warmth - both literal and metaphorical. Just as its essence warms our bodies and spirits, we are called to reflect on the warmth we offer to those around us. How do we give and receive warmth during this season of introspection and togetherness?
This sacred spice also carries an energy of success and vitality, encouraging us to move forward with confidence and optimism as we embrace the blessings of the season.
A Ritual for Day 4
✨ Prepare your cinnamon sticks: Gather cinnamon sticks to add to your shrine. You can tie a little bundle of three together with some ribbon or string, or just add single sticks. If you don’t have cinnamon sticks, powdered cinnamon is absolutely fine.
✨ Place cinnamon on your shrine: Arrange the cinnamon with intention, visualising it radiating warmth and inviting blessings of health, joy, success, and luck into your space. I chose to add three little bundles of cinnamon to my Winter Solstice altar, symbolising for me the important connection between spirit, body and mind to feel truly abundant.
✨ Reflect on warmth: Light a candle alongside the cinnamon and take a moment to reflect on the warmth you give and receive. What brings warmth to your life, and how can you share that with others?
As you perform this ritual, allow cinnamon’s uplifting energy to fill your space, reminding you of the abundance and joy available even in the darkest of seasons.
Reflection Prompt
What does warmth mean to you? How can you give and receive warmth more intentionally during this season?
Affirmation
"I invite warmth, joy, and abundance into my life. Like cinnamon, I radiate positivity and attract blessings of success, health, and happiness."
Cinnamon’s Place in Our Solstice Journey
Cinnamon’s presence on our shrine adds a layer of vitality and optimism, aligning us with the energies of abundance and celebration. It reminds us that, even in the depths of winter, we can cultivate a sense of warmth and connection that nourishes our spirits and strengthens our bonds with others.
Each element we add to our shrine carries a unique energy, weaving together a tapestry of meaning and intention as we approach the Solstice. Cinnamon invites us to celebrate life’s blessings, to share our light with others, and to welcome abundance and joy into our hearts.
✨ Follow along as I continue building our Winter Solstice shrine. Let cinnamon inspire you to embrace the warmth and blessings of the season, reflecting on the sweetness and abundance that surrounds us. Together, we’ll honour the magic of this sacred journey. ✨
