  • #09 - Sustainable Living & Why the Way We Shop Matters with Cora Hilts of Reve en Vert

In this episode, I sit down with Cora Hilts of Reve en Vert to discuss sustainable shopping, conscious living and the importance of taking responsibility for our own well being in the modern world.

Cora has a masters in environmental politics and sustainability, and is the founder of Reve en Vert - an online store sourcing and showcasing only the most authentic, ethical and environmentally-friendly brands and businesses. She lists only brands that tick all the boxes when it comes to the four main types of sustainability: human, social, economic and environmental, and is so passionate about creating a world with less injustice; starting in the fashion industry. Fashion is one of the biggest polluting industries, creating so much waste; built mainly on using harmful and unsustainably-produced fabrics and materials; and made only possible by the people in production, often working in dangerous, unethical conditions and with unfair pay, amongst other major issues.

Cora and I discuss which major red flags to look out for in brands theses days, which green lights to look at for, and how to know if a brand is trustworthy and reliable. We talk about the importance of transparency in the industry. We talk about the how to choose your fabrics, and how synthetics are not only harmful for the environment but also for our personal health and wellbeing. We talk about the plastic problem and how, despite our best efforts, we are consuming a credit card sized amount of plastic per year in the modern world. She shares with me so many incredible facts and statistics - this episode is such a wake up call, but at the same time a really concise and realistic discussion for anyone new to sustainability and not quite sure where to start or how to do their bit.

  • #08 Guided Episode - 15 Minute Yoga Nidra for Deep Relaxation with Pip Roberts

In this episode, last weeks guest Pip Roberts shares the most incredible 15 minute guided yoga nidra session. If you missed last weeks episode, Pip is a yoga and meditation teacher and founder of Now Studio in Bristol. She is armed with rituals and resources for relaxation and just taking the stress out of everyday life. Last week, Pip and I talked about finding balance, the importance of rest and how to navigate the wellness scene in a way that feel empowered and authentic for you on an individual level. She also talked us through yoga nidra - a practice she has been guiding people through for years alongside traditional yoga classes. In fact, not yoga at all, yoga nidra is known as yogic sleep, and you don't need to move a muscle. It is more like meditation, but for me it works even more deeply than that. It is a completely passive ritual, meaning you don't need to focus your attention or observe your thoughts like in some forms of meditation. Instead, you can just fully surrender and be carried along by the words and instructions, and your subconscious will pick up on them even if you feel yourself drifting into a deep sleep. It might sound a bit out there, but put simply, yoga nidra is one of the most relaxing rituals you can use, and it works in the present moment to encourage relaxation but can also offer other longer-term benefits, too, like reducing stress, reducing anxiety, improving mood and encouraging better sleep.

In this session, Pip starts by guiding us through setting our own personal intentions at the beginning of the practice - known as a sankalpa - and then leads us through a body scan and beyond.

I would recommend to do this in the evenings or just before bed, as it is deeply relaxing. You'll end the practice feeling incredibly zen, maybe a bit spaced out but also much clearer headed, lighter and more present. You can practice this during the day if you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, but I would recommend it more for the end of the day as you begin to wind down. I really hope you enjoy it and come back to it again and again and again.

  • #06 - Balance and the Importance of Rest with Pip Roberts of Now Studio

In this episode, I sit down with a dear friend of mine, Pip Roberts. Yoga and meditation teacher and founder of Now Studio in Bristol, Pip is armed with rituals and resources for relaxation and just taking the stress out of everyday life. I love Pip's approach to everything, but particularly wellbeing as she offers such a real perspective on things that, I believe, have gotten a bit too extreme or intense as they've gained popularity and recognition. I love Pip's ability to find balance in everything she does. When I first tried her yoga a few years ago, I loved how freeing and explorative it was, as apposed to many of the classes I'd tried before which I'd found restrictive, regimented and, well, just a bit over the top. But aside from yoga, Pip has a way of guiding and inspiring people to live their lives whilst incorporating simple practices and habits, without having to completely overhaul their lifestyle, and without having to abide to strict rules or label anything.

For anyone sceptical about wellness, yoga, spirituality, mindfulness - the works - this episode is such a breath of fresh air in a world where wellness advice is rife - and at times overwhelming and confusing. Pip puts things so simply. Instead of talking about self betterment, she talks about balance, and instead of working hard to get there, she talks about prioritising softness, slowness and rest.

We have a really relaxed and refreshing conversation in this episode, with lots of laughing and lightheartedness. We discuss the importance of not taking things too seriously and not trying too hard. We touch on the path of least resistance and the power of rest. And we also discuss healthy eating patterns, individuality and finding your own authentic flow - not just in yoga but in life. Enjoy the episode!

Do you ever feel overwhelmed or anxious suddenly or out of the blue? Do you struggle to find rituals or remedies to sustainably manage stress? Are you interested in learning more about alternative or ancient teachings and systems that could inspire new, simple daily habits to keep you feeling well and balanced?

In this episode, I speak with Georgie Holt - acupressure specialist, yin yoga teacher and founder of Unfold Studio. • #03 Guided Episode - 12 Minute Letting Go of Limiting Beliefs Meditation

Welcome to the first Guided episode on The Process Podcast.

This week I'm sharing a short 12 minute meditation to help acknowledge limiting beliefs and negative self-talk, and work subconsciously to let go of things that might be blocking you in life right now. This meditation helps bring forward things that are predominately playing on your mind right now. It is simply through finding stillness that these things come up and we are able to notice them. During this meditation, once something comes up, we'll work on really understanding deeply what it is, how it feels and how it affects us, and then I'll guide you through a simple ritual to help you mentally, emotionally and energetically let go of it.

You can repeat this meditation time and time again, and come back to it any time you feel that you're stuck in a certain frame of mind, or blocked by something in life.

  • #02 - Being unapologetically yourself, with Olivia Iasonos

Do you ever find yourself feeling like you should be further ahead by now? Do you ever compare your journey or speed to someone else's? Do you ever feel lost or off track, or like what you're doing in life lacks purpose or passion?

In this weeks episode, I speak with Olivia Iasonos about Human Design - a system that takes from several ideas and teachings including astrology, i ching kabalah quantum physics and the chakras. It reveals such an articulate reading of a person and how we are designed to interact in the world and has proven to be a valuable tool for human understanding. And what I love most about it is how it almost gives you permission and empowers you to be truly yourself.

Human Design has really helped me to open up and explore more deeply who I am. It has helped me to understand how I feel and react to things, how I show up in the world and what things in life really light me up, and what don't. Understanding your "type" can help make sense of so many personal things, from traits and characteristics to behaviour, attitude and experiences.  This sense of deep self-understanding can really help us to become more aligned with our authentic self, finding a more appropriate direction and also helping in decision making.
