The Illusion of Evidence Based Medicine

Prof Leemon McHenry is a bioethicist and emeritus professor of philosophy at California State University at Northridge specializing in medical ethics and the philosophy of metaphysics. In the past he has taught at the University of Edinburgh -- where he received his doctorate --  Old Dominion University, Davidson and Wittenberg University. Among Prof McHenry's deep concerns are the corporate hijacking of modern medicine, the loss of scientific integrity in clinical research and medical journals,  and the corruption that runs throughout the pharmaceutical industry and our federal health agencies. For over 15 years he has been a consultant on medical ethics for the large law firm Baum, Hedlund, Aristei and Goldman, which worked with Bobby Kennedy on winning the case against Monsanto. Leemon has written several books on philosophy and is the co-author with psychiatry professor Jon Jureidini of the recent book, "The Illusion of Evidence-Based Medicine: Exposing the Crisis of Credibility in Clinical Research" which brings to light the history and nefarious behavior to justify why modern medicine and Big Pharma have rapidly been losing public trust.
