The Buffalo Bills will host the Baltimore Ravens this Saturday night for the first time in postseason history. With 5 seed attached to their name Baltimore is a carbon copy of the 2019 9-7 Tennessee Titans team that upset a 14-2 Ravens team a year ago this weekend. Now the Bills with their 1st AFC East division title in 25 years & postseason victory is 14-3 & can be compared to those 2019 Baltimore Ravens. With history on their side the Ravens are flying into Orchard Park N.Y. confident and they hope to be flying out with a spot in the AFC Championship Game Sunday January 24th, 2021.

Aaron Rodgers and the number 1 seeded Green Bay Packers will host the 6th seeded upstart Los Angeles Rams on Saturday in the first game of the NFL divisional round. The Rams defeated their NFC West rival in Seattle last weekend in the super wild card round 30-20 with a championship defense. The Rams defense is 1st in points allowed per game in the NFL'S defensive ranking category. The Packers offense is ranked first in points scored per game. The weather in Green Bay is always a factor for visiting teams and for this coming Saturday afternoon is expected to be 30 degrees with clear skys. With that being said kickoff is set for 4:35pm whuch means the temperature is going to drop in the mid to low 20's.

I'll also touch on Alabama's 7th National Championship title last night just a little. So the 6th seeded Cleveland Browns did what everyone said they couldn't do last night. Steelers wide receiver Ju-Ju Smith-Shuster said it as well four days before the game. The 3rd seeded Pittsburgh Steelers, 2020 AFC North Champions will be home for the remainder of the 2021 tournament just like the 2020 AFC South Champs, Titans, the NFC West Champs Seahawks and the NFC East Champs Washington Football Team. The only remaining divisional champs in the tournament are the 2020 AFC East Champs Buffalo Bills, AFC West Champs Kansas City Chiefs, the NFC South Champs New Orleans Saints and the NFC North Champs Green Bay Packers. 48-37 beat down for the Steelers. With the 7th seed Chicago Bears there really wasn't a chance to win against the 2nd seeded NFC South Champion New Orleans Saints. As a matter of fact the Bears were already out of the tournament before even playing on the field against the Saints on yesterday afternoon. The biggest underdog of week 18 the Bears only mustered 9 total points against the Saints. Drew Brees did his job as he almost always does for the most part and this defense continues to impress. New Orleans defense allowed the lowest points in all 6 games played in winning or losing. 9 points, that's all. I don't see the 5 seeded Buccaneers being as easy as the Bears nor as easy as the last time the Buccs & Saints got together in Tampa.

Once again in the NFL the seed number by your team's win loss record & name means absolutely nothing in the playoffs. And even though the Baltimore Ravens where chosen by many (me included) to get revenge against the 4th seeded Tennessee Titans on yesterday, it didn't start out easy for the 5th seeded Ravens. What was apparent was this, when ever Baltimore plays Tennessee is Nashville the Ravens win, postseason or not. Whenever Tennessee plays Baltimore in Baltimore, the Titans always win, postseason or not. And that's really all I've got to say concerning this WILDCARD game. Lamar Jackson gets his 1st postseason win as well in his 3rd tournament appearance. Congratulations "Action" Jackson!

As expected the 4th seeded Washington Football Team was unable to overcome the greatness of Tom Brady and the 5th seeded Buccaneers. You can even argue the point that the Buccaneers should be the 4th seed, leaving Washington with the 5th, 6th, or 7th seed. It's an arguably point but now mute as the 2020 NFC East Champs will sit home for the remaining rounds of this tournament and figure out how to move forward. We know Washington's defense is legit but they can improve there as well. The obvious hole is franchise quarterback. Veteran Alex Smith may retire, Dwayne Haskins Jr. was released before 2021 leaving him amd the franchise Q.B. label in 2020. And with all that said Taylor Heinickie making a case for that said franchise quarterback title. But did he do enough in the loss to make his case?

The 6th seeded Los Angeles Rams went right into the 2020 NFC West champs house on Saturday afternoon and won big. Defeating the 2nd seed Seahawks 30-20. There's one thing to remember always about the NFL, whether it's a postseason game or a regular season game. The 1 thing that holds the truth is defense and a rushing attack travels. If you have these 2 attributes on your team you'll have a huge impact and possibly find yourself on the field Super Bowl Sunday. I predicted the Seahawks would be the team going on the road next weekend in the Divisional Round. Not the Rams, the Rams totaled a 164 yards on the ground. And went in with the number 1 defense in points allowed per game in the NFL.

As the AFC's 7th seed today the Indianapolis Colts lost to the the AFC's 2nd seed in Buffalo, Orchard Park New York. Final score Buf. 27 Ind. 24, Philip Rivers did all he could to win earlier today against the Buffalo Bills. But the NOW 14-3 BILLS proved to be way too much for the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts fall to 11-6 & Buffalo will host a postseason game next Saturday at home in the NFL's Divisional Playoff Round. The Bills opponent is yet to be determined as there are still 2, count them 2 AFC Wild Card Games to play on tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night. Stay tuned to The Prophet's Picks Football Podcast! The 6th seeded Cleveland Browns are back in Pittsburgh who's the AFC North division champs with the 3rd seed. Cleveland defeated a Steelers team in week 17 24-22 that saw many of the Steelers starters sit out in preparation of this wild card game against 1 of their hated rivals. The AFC North has 3 teams in this year's tournament. Baltimore 11-5 like the Browns and the the Steelers are 12-4. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski tested positive for covid-19 and will be at home while his team is in Pittsburgh this Sunday night. Either way the Browns had a great season with an even bigger future ahead.
