Show #372 of the 2020 NFL season and postseason is about the elite 8. The elite 8 being the teams remaining in this year's tournament. Also in this show just a little information on a few teams that lost in last Saturday's super wild wild card round as well as a little insight about the none playoff teams.

The Texans fall from NFL prestige and playoff contention didn't start last week or even last season. You can trace the fall from AFC South power back to the late owners racists remarks during the Kaepernick kneeling protests about 6 seasons ago. Now DeShaun Watson is fuming and while he's NEVER been one for the spotlight, there comes a time when enough is enough. Honestly I didn't plan on talking about the Houston Texans situation at all for the entirety of this show, I guess I got carried away and caught up with the ordeals going on there and once I started talking I couldn't stop.

Drew Brees vs. Tom Brady part 9! The 2nd seeded Saints defeated the 5th seeded Buccaneers in both 2020 regular season meetings. Can the New Orleans Saints pull off the hat trick this Sunday night on FOX? It's the last game of the divisional round weekend in the NFL & the first time the Buccaneers and Saints will meet in the postseason. Think about this, it took Tom Brady and head coach Bruce Arians to get Tampa Bay in the postseason to face division rival New Orleans for the first time ever 🤔 Alot of firsts Brady and this is another one!

The Browns have never met the Chiefs in January, EVER and Baker Mayfield will do all he can to help his team win as the AFC's 6th seed against the 1 seeded Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday afternoon. The Browns are the Browns as Steelers receiver Ju Ju Smith-Shuster so eloquently put it a week ago. And we're expecting that in this 3rd divisional round game. Patrick MaHomes II & the Chiefs, are the Chiefs since MaHomes II took the reigns as the franchise quarterback a few seasons ago. Explosive, unstoppable, sophisticated, courageous and resilient are just some of the words to describe the Chiefs offense and their superstar quarterback. No one's giving theBrowns a chance to win this game and that's understandable, at the same time no Chiefs are in the media giving Baker Mayfield and the Browns added firepower of motivation either. It'll be shootout and even if it's not the Chiefs are fine with that too.

The Buffalo Bills will host the Baltimore Ravens this Saturday night for the first time in postseason history. With 5 seed attached to their name Baltimore is a carbon copy of the 2019 9-7 Tennessee Titans team that upset a 14-2 Ravens team a year ago this weekend. Now the Bills with their 1st AFC East division title in 25 years & postseason victory is 14-3 & can be compared to those 2019 Baltimore Ravens. With history on their side the Ravens are flying into Orchard Park N.Y. confident and they hope to be flying out with a spot in the AFC Championship Game Sunday January 24th, 2021.

Aaron Rodgers and the number 1 seeded Green Bay Packers will host the 6th seeded upstart Los Angeles Rams on Saturday in the first game of the NFL divisional round. The Rams defeated their NFC West rival in Seattle last weekend in the super wild card round 30-20 with a championship defense. The Rams defense is 1st in points allowed per game in the NFL'S defensive ranking category. The Packers offense is ranked first in points scored per game. The weather in Green Bay is always a factor for visiting teams and for this coming Saturday afternoon is expected to be 30 degrees with clear skys. With that being said kickoff is set for 4:35pm whuch means the temperature is going to drop in the mid to low 20's.

Show #356, season 2 of The Prophet's Picks Football Podcast begins with the thought of College football coach Nick Saban being the greatest college coach of all time. I'll also touch on Alabama's 7th National Championship title last night just a little. After a little College Football Championship talking, I transition to a review of the 1st round of the 2021 tournament, also known as the playoffs and NFL week 18. This year it was known as super wild, wild card round. Lastly for the losing clubs and clubs with no head coach or general manager, where does these clubs go from here, as week get deeper into the 2020 offseason.

So the 6th seeded Cleveland Browns did what everyone said they couldn't do last night. Steelers wide receiver Ju-Ju Smith-Shuster said it as well four days before the game. Welp, Cleveland DID do it & Cleveland rocks! The 3rd seeded Pittsburgh Steelers, 2020 AFC North Champions will be home for the remainder of the 2021 tournament just like the 2020 AFC South Champs, Titans, the NFC West Champs Seahawks and the NFC East Champs Washington Football Team. The only remaining divisional champs in the tournament are the 2020 AFC East Champs Buffalo Bills, AFC West Champs Kansas City Chiefs, the NFC South Champs New Orleans Saints and the NFC North Champs Green Bay Packers. 48-37 beat down for the Steelers. Pittsburghs' performance last night not worth mentioning here in this summary box. Enjoy!

With the 7th seed Chicago Bears there really wasn't a chance to win against the 2nd seeded NFC South Champion New Orleans Saints. As a matter of fact the Bears were already out of the tournament before even playing on the field against the Saints on yesterday afternoon. The biggest underdog of week 18 the Bears only mustered 9 total points against the Saints. Drew Brees did his job as he almost always does for the most part and this defense continues to impress. New Orleans defense allowed the lowest points in all 6 games played in winning or losing. 9 points, that's all. I don't see the 5 seeded Buccaneers being as easy as the Bears nor as easy as the last time the Buccs & Saints got together in Tampa.

Once again in the NFL the seed number by your team's win loss record & name means absolutely nothing in the playoffs. And even though the Baltimore Ravens where chosen by many (me included) to get revenge against the 4th seeded Tennessee Titans on yesterday, it didn't start out easy for the 5th seeded Ravens. What was apparent was this, when ever Baltimore plays Tennessee is Nashville the Ravens win, postseason or not. Whenever Tennessee plays Baltimore in Baltimore, the Titans always win, postseason or not. And that's really all I've got to say concerning this WILDCARD game. Lamar Jackson gets his 1st postseason win as well in his 3rd tournament appearance. Congratulations "Action" Jackson!
