Nathan Gorenstein joined The Protectors to talk about his new book THE GUNS OF JOHN MOSES BROWNING and his background in reporting.  Can you believe the Browning M2 .50 cal is still in action!  

From the author:  His biography chronicles the achievements of some of the most popular firearms in American history. With the current controversy surrounding gun ownership and usage, Gorenstein takes a refreshingly philosophical stance on Browning’s work pointing out that “firearms indisputably occupy both ends of a moral spectrum starting at good and evil. About the Author:  Nathan Gorenstein is a former reporter and editor for The Philadelphia Inquirer, where he covered city and state politics and produced a wealth of groundbreaking work. He is also the author of Tommy Gun Winter, the story of a Boston gang from the 1930s that included an MIT graduate, a minister’s daughter, and two of Gorenstein’s own relatives. He competes in handgun sports, sometimes with a Browning 1911 pistol.

Michael Gier joined The Protectors to talk about his documentary WOUNDED HEROES, his time in the film industry, and bringing this story to light.  Full interview on podcast and YouTube this Monday.  

About the documentary:  Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) among Veterans is a serious problem with over 20 Veterans a day taking their lives by suicide.  Most are given prescription drugs but as many Veterans have said, medication is just a band-aid over a wound that will never heal. Our Veterans deserve more than just a band-aid and so director/producer Michael Gier went on a mission and found successful treatments and programs that help anyone battling PTS get their lives back. And just like Veterans; firefighters, police officers, and other first responders not only deal with PTS, but they also have very high suicide rates. Although Michael started out to help Veterans, Wounded Heroes features treatments/programs that help all of our heroes and anyone battling post-traumatic stress; literally saving lives.​
