The National Sexuality Education Standards (NSES) can be used as “tools” for school health and sexuality educators to ensure the information and skill development being taught K-12 is age- and developmentally-appropriate. These standards, though, can also be used as a “tool” for parents and other caregivers for knowing what to talk about with their young people. To help explain what these standards, these “tools,” are about, Nora Gelperin chats with the Puberty Prof. Nora is the Director of Sex Education & Training for Advocates for Youth as well as one of the people on the team to create these standards.
