  • Episode 8 - The Crockett Years: 1984

In the first installment of our new series "The Crockett Years" we

examine Jim Crockett Promotions in the year 1984.  Following the first

"year of transformation" from when professional wrestling went from a
regional based attraction to a national entertainment powerhouse, thanks
in large part to the expansion of cable television. From iconic stars
like "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and The Junkyard Dog who left the company and
went up north to new stars like Tully Blanchard and Manny Fernandez who
would help carry the promotion into the new era of professional
wrestling!  Other topics covered, Gallagher, the watermelon smashing
"comedian" , old school satellite dishes, growing up in the sticks and
the First in Freight live viewing party taking place at Games Swap
