Dr Lordan is the Founding Director of The Inclusion Initiative, an Associate Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science and also serves as an expert advisor to the UK Government. As an academic, Dr Lordan’s research is focused on quantifying the benefits of inclusion within and across firms and designing interventions that level the playing field for under-represented talent. Her work has appeared in numerous prestigious academic journals coupled with the Financial Times and Harvard Business Review.
In March 2021, Grace published her first book 'Think Big: Take Smalls Steps and Build The Future You Want', an evidence-based guide that looks at how your small actions today will determine your future. In today’s conversation, we delve into Grace's work covering tonnes of behavioural science concepts including how our emotions influence decision making, the relationship between gender and risk aversion and why we fear failure. Guy Schanschieff MBE, went from being an accountant in training at KPMG to travelling the world with his wife Jo, where a chance meeting in India, would result in the pair returning to the UK in the early 90s, to co-found the multi-million pound business Bambino Mio we see today. But Bambino Mio’s journey is much more than the luck of a chance meeting, it is a story of courage and of determination and a mission to make sure that every parent and child have access to stylish and affordable reusable baby products, within global markets demanding meaning above margin. It’s also the story of how activating a brands purpose, can inspire conscious consumer driven movements which lead to transformation and growth for companies both inside and out.
By activating their brand purpose, Bambino Mio haven’t just witnessed rapid growth, they’ve also won the Queens award for International Trade, an MBE for Guy and ‘Best in Brand Purpose’ at the recent Drum Awards.
Chatting to Guy was awesome, and what is true from our conversation, is the future of business and brand hinges upon understanding purpose as something far greater than a do gooder exercise. Activating brand purpose is much more meaningful to what a company stands for and believes in, and it’s up to leaders, to activate their brand purpose into narratives that inspire consumer driven movements like Bambino Mio. So without further ado, please sit back, relax and we do hope you enjoy!!

Morris Pearl exudes expertise, awareness and wisdom. Chair of the Patriotic Millionaires and previously an MD at BlackRock (one of the largest investment firms in the world), today he shares with me, to share with you, our listeners, the amazing facts that have led to record levels of global inequality, the root cause to social unrest.
Within this episode, Morris and I discussed the origins of the Patriotic Millionaires and their newest book Tax the Rich: How Lies, Loopholes, and Lobbyists Make the Rich Even Richer, whilst he also provides a rare insider’s view of how the rich and powerful have rigged an economy and political system in their favour whilst everyone else are left to foot the bill. History has shown us time and time again what happens when money and power is concentrated within the hands of too few for too long. And by allowing millionaires, billionaires, and corporations to control the economy and rig it in their favour, we know doesn't turn out well for anyone, including the rich.
This is an amazing conversation you’re not going to want to miss!! So without further ado, please sit back, relax and we do hope you enjoy. For more information on items referenced during today’s podcast, please feel free to check out the links in the description below.

In today’s episode we chat to the wonderful Kathryn Hymes. Kathryn is a computational linguist, co-founder of Thorny Games, and a writer whose work on language, technology, and music has appeared in The Atlantic, The New York Times and more recently Wired.
On November 1st 2021, Kathryn wrote an article entitled, the ‘Great Resignation’ Misses the Point, as around the world, people are quitting their jobs in record numbers and bosses are scrambling to figure out why. The phrase itself, originated in early May, at a time in which Professor Anthony Klotz, warned that “The Great Resignation is coming” as part of an interview held with Bloomberg.
A few weeks later, the Bureau for Labour Statistics confirmed, a record 4 million Americans had left their jobs in April. The trend proved to be a global one, as within the UK, job vacancies grew to an all-time high in July and September, with available posts surpassing 1.1 million. Suddenly, people were reaching for ways to refer to this new phenomenon unfolding before them—to brand it and to make sense of it.
Within this episode, Kathryn and I discussed the origins of her article, and how it forms part of a much wider transformation taking place within the global society today. We also discuss, how by embracing an era of narrative, we can derive more meaning by focusing on the root causes rather than a simple slogan.
This is a truly wonderful conversation that you’re not going to want to miss!! So without further ado, please sit back, relax and we do hope you enjoy.

The Purpose Made Podcast explores where games, entertainment and ideas become worlds.
Hosted by Pete Bell, founder of Purpose Made and former Head of Strategic…
Games are our starting point. We go deeper into the IP we know and love, and into the ideas that make those worlds last. Many of the most important entertainment experiences of the next decade will begin as video games, then travel across film, television, publishing, sport, technology and culture. We look beyond the game itself: at the worlds underneath it, the franchises that can carry many stories, the businesses that bring them to audiences, and the choices that determine what lasts.
Guests include Shawn Layden (former Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios and President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment America), Danny Bilson (writer of The Rocketeer and The Flash, and former THQ executive), Ken Levine (creator of BioShock), Tim Cain (co-creator of Fallout), Jeff Gomez (transmedia strategist and founder of Starlight Runner), Peter Levin (Managing Director and Co-Founder of Griffin Gaming Partners), Russell Binder (Partner at Striker Entertainment) and Richard Browne (games executive and publishing consultant), alongside the creators, operators and investors shaping what comes next.
The conversations explore franchise architecture, IP, studio and publishing economics, transmedia, creative leadership, technology, culture and the future of entertainment.
Purpose Made is for players, creators, studio leaders, publishers, investors and anyone who wants to understand the ideas shaping the next generation of entertainment.
