The Process of change is hard. Sometimes we end up chasing things that don’t really line up with our values. We first must align our minds with our souls. It’s not a question of “if we can”, it’s “if we desire”. We have to be honest and develop a pathway of awareness to our authentic selves. That is when the real process of change begins.
Real change requires awareness and honesty. When we truly value what’s in the “circle of our mastery” and it’s something we want to do, then true change can happen.
What is the object of your mastery? What’s in the center of the game called “your life”? It is up to us to decide what we want to master. Does it feed your body, or does it feed your soul?
As humans we are programmed to desire the feeling of mastery over things. If we can focus on our own life, rather than other externals games, we will begin to tap into our own greatness. Because the difference between who we are and who we could be, is the ability to change.
Inspiration is key in living an awesome life. External inspiration can be the springboard for internal inspiration. This is where we start to grow. Where we really get moving and the real change happens.
The process of going from good to great starts with not what you’re bad at, but from what you’re good at, and then pushing yourself through the comfort zone of good enough to get to great.
Life requires us to dream and execute on those dreams. We make choices throughout our day, are we dreaming (expansion)? Are we executing (contraction)? When we discover the fine balance between expansion and contraction, change can take place and we can become who we are meant to be.
Change is hard. It happens in little drips, sometimes undetected. But, as soon as the heart connects to the mind, change is inevitable. Start making changes by looking at areas that you’re good at. When you do, you can become great.
Jim Collins stated, “The enemy of great is not mediocre. The enemy of great is good.” The Jewish month of Elul is all about change. What makes us great is when we choose to change even when things are good.
Negative thinking creates blockages to our energy source - our soul. When we think negatively about ourselves, others, or the situation we are in, we're the ones that suffer the most.
