The PVDcast

This weekend marks the return of the annual WWE Summerslam pay-per-view. I am joined on this episode of The PVDcast by DJ Joey Blayze and Ringside Rand to talk about this annual event. We breakdown the matches and give our opinions and predictions on what might happen this Sunday. We also discuss the big NXT Takeover show, which takes place on Saturday. Who will win the big matches? What new champs might be crowned? What wrestling product have I never watched? All these questions will be answered on episode 164!

The PVDcast has always focused on the independent spirit of folks creating unique ideas. This episode of The PVDcast is no different. On this edition, I am joined by Matt Sweeney, the man behind Wrestle Legends. This inaugural wrestling fan fest is Matt's idea and is coming to Hilliard, Ohio on August 18. Matt and I discuss the trials and tribulations of being a first-time promoter of such an event. We also chat about the various stars that will be appearing at Wrestle Legends (such as Jimmy Hart, Sgt. Slaughter, Road Warrior Animal, etc.). If you're a wrestling fan, you don't dare want to miss this event or miss out on this great conversation!

Resident film critic, Paul Markoff, joins me on this episode of The PVDcast. Paul is making his seventh appearance on this podcast to discuss one of our shared passions - movies! We discuss the movies that have come out in the first half of 2018. We give our thoughts on what we liked and didn't like about the films that we saw from earlier this year. We don't give away too much about these flicks, but there is always the chance that something could be spoiled. Listen with caution! We also chat about Paul joining the world of podcasting; as he is the co-host of The Filmbound Podcast (www.filmboundpod.com). Grab some popcorn and a soda and settle for this feature presentation of The PVDcast!

Throughout the history of comic books, there have been some unique superheroes. On this episode of The PVDcast, I am joined by Ted Sikora, the co-creator of Cleveland's only superhero, Apama The Undiscovered Animal. A proud citizen of Cleveland, Ted talks about the unorthodox creative process for Apama. We also chat about Tap Dance Killer, another comic book that is a spin-off from Apama. We even manage to fit in a little Cleveland sports news. What does Ted think about LeBron's departure from the Cavs? Does Ted think the Browns will be winners this season? Tune into episode 161 to find out!

Adam Fields, the creator of the Prowl comic book series joins me on this episode of The PVDcast. Adam is one busy man! He gives us an update on Prowl, as he just wrapped up issue #5 and is starting on issue #6. Adam & I talk about his projects for the Marvel/Upper Deck trading card line and his commission work, too. We even chat about how technology, specifically your phone, can make comics come to life! What do I mean by that statement? Well, you'll have to listen to find out!
