Mark Angelo/Maritza and Lynna Arielle/Paul Cummings are a married gender variant couple who are the hosts of Transition Radio’s Real Talk Podcast, an online show that is now focused on helping people realize the importance and respect for others in the LGBA community, while at the same time finding truth and respect for self In the gender spectrum.

Mark/Maritza has been an advocate for the trans community since 2003 but she realized that it was taking a turn for the worst and now wants to help bring balance and much needed education to this broken paradigm. Their main focus is to help people realize that they can be true to themselves without inflicting harm on themselves and others, to learn to co exist with other groups without forcing their beliefs and altruistic behaviors that only harm the natural flow of life and existence. We believe that through education and awareness, that many of these behaviors that are being forced upon the public are actually neurological and psychological in nature and there needs to be more education and different treatment solutions which includes a variety of spiritual and a more organic harmonious approach.

Jody laine and Shad reinstein have been partners for over 30 years. They are 2 of the 3 co-producers of OUTwatch, Wine Countries LGBTQI Film Festival.

After Jody and shad moved to Sebastopol, they started working with Sebastopol Documentary film festival. they would also go down to San Francisco to Frameline GLBTQ Film Festival every June to watch lots of queer films and look for films for Doc fest.

They realized that there were all sorts of wonderful GLBTQ films that would not fit into the format of Doc Fest. So working with a couple of other women from Doc Fest, 4 years ago we started showing “A day of LGBTQI films” to see if we had enough local support to do a real film festival. Then last year, Jody and I, along with Gary Carnivale transferred A day of LGBTQI films into OutWatch, Wine Countries LGBTQI Film Festival.

OUTwatch – Wine Country’s LGBTQI Film Festival will happen November 6 – 8, 2015, at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts.  Our theme this year:  Films For Us.  We always select the best, award-winning films from this year’s festival circuit to show at OUTwatch. We have expanded to 3 days.

We are planning an exciting festival that will showcase six fantastic feature films and two thought-provoking documentaries. Our line-up this year includes: How  to Win at Checkers (Every Time), a Thai film about two young lovers from very different backgrounds as they prepare to face the draft;  All About E, a breath-taking lesbian thriller from Australia — fun! and no one dies!; Reel in the Closet, featuring LGBT home movies from North Bay filmmaker Stu Maddox; The Surface, a though-provoking feature reminiscent of the films of the Queer New Wave; Liz in September, a fresh update of the classic lesbian play Last Summer at Bluefish Cove. It’s a stunner set in Venezuela; Two 4 One is a Canadian comedy about a transman and his lesbian ex…it won the audience award for Best Film atTranslations, the Seattle Transgender Film Festival. From This Day Forward is an honest and thought provoking documentary about a trans woman whose wife doesn’t divorce her, made by their now adult daughter. It’s a conversation about love in a very modern family. And finally, Alto, a lesbian mob comedy. Surprising attractions, the mob, and family traditions pave the road to hilarity in this character-rich story.

Festival sponsors and festival pass holders are invited to attend the VIP Opening Night Party, a catered affair replete with live entertainment.  The Saturday Spotlight Party will kick off after the day’s final screening.  There will be a live deejay (DJ  Lori Z), munchies, and wonderful beer and wine. And, we’re throwing in an Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social on Sunday just for the fun of it!

Naomi Metz is the owner and principal attorney of the Law Office of Naomi E. Metz, a boutique firm providing a full range of estate planning, trust administration, probate, and beneficiary representation services, with a special focus on the unique and still often complex needs of the LGBT community. While at UC Berkeley School of Law, Naomi focused her studies on laws related to the recognition and protection of LGBT families and their financial assets. Naomi’s thesis examined the practical impact of SB 1827, a 2006 law requiring California Registered Domestic Partners to file their California income tax returns jointly. She also completed an externship at the National Center for Lesbian Rights, was a research assistant on a project examining the impact of the federal “ministerial exception” on LGBT employment opportunities, and worked as a law clerk for an estate planning firm with a strong focus on LGBT clients.

Naomi often leads educational seminars for other professionals and the LGBT community on estate planning, tax, and property issues for LGBT families, as well as issues of “cultural competency” for professionals working with LGBT clients. She co-founded and facilitates a study group for attorneys and tax professionals that examines the complex interaction between California and federal tax and property laws with a focus on the particular issues faced by our LGBT clients.

Naomi is on the Board of Directors of the National LGBTQ Task Force Foundation, where she is chair of the Resource Development Committee, and is a founding member and the co-chair of the Sonoma County LGBTQI Giving Circle. She is an adjunct professor at Empire College of Law, where she has taught classes on LGBT issues in the law. She is a member of the Sonoma County Bar Association, the LGBT Law Section of the Sonoma County Bar Association, the Redwood Empire Estate Planning Council, the California Bar Association, and the National LGBT Bar Association.

Naomi lives in Santa Rosa with her wife, Jennifer, their dog, Molly, and their cat, Kitten.

TransLife: Builidng Our Community
The transgender community, their loved ones and family are welcome to join us for this inaugural community event! Get information on legal issues, advocacy, and networking opportunities geared specifically for the transgender community, with hands-on resources you can use right away. Representatives from multiple organizations will be on hand with information on social, legal, economic and health services available to you. We’ve also built in some fun social opportunities to help you get to know your community.

You’ll leave with a new appreciation of the diversity and strength of the transgender community and immediate connections to resources and support.

This is an inclusive space for anyone on the transgender spectrum or questioning. This umbrella includes individuals who identify as transgender, genderqueer, gender fluid, or questioning. We welcome you at where you are at in your journey.

Includes lunch. We’ll have Spanish interpretation services onsite, too.

Girl Fry is a queer, Latin fringe punk band based out of Southern California.
In the two years they have been officially together they have been on 4 tours,
with a 5th coming up this October, and have gone through probably 6 drummers.

Jessy Spiño ( Vocals/Guitar/Charango) fronts the band bringing to the
stage beautiful melodies with dark & provocative, sometimes brutal lyrics. Her
experience from prior bands is used to run a tight ship.

Alex Sí (Bass/Backing Vocals) is brand new to playing as part
of a group. She spent several years doing solo folk punk shows (under
Alexandria Calderón) before Jessy Spiño managed to wrangle her into joining Girl Fry.

Drummers are pulled out of the cloning vat as we see fit.
