To start everything off, Shaka King delights us with this entrancing historical film. The random spin is gone for the time being, but our methodology for picking the order is just the same! 

Once the Academy declares a winner, we'll figure where it goes in our big list of evert Best Picture winner ever.

Bri*ish "People". Is that what this movie is really trying to tell us? We're not sure, and we're not sure that our discussion can figure that out either. Anyhow, it's a fun time to really dive deep into whatever British New Wave nonsense Tony Richardson made. We'll be going on a little break for our regular Quest for the Bestest programming for a couple weeks as the Oscar nominees are out! Frank Capra delivers an unexpectedly interesting and thought-provoking comedy in his 1938 film You Can't Take It With You, or at least that's what all of the Back Log Boys eventually agree on. Surprising right? Well it seems the tide is turning on certain member's feelings about older films. Stay tuned to see this exciting development to its finish!

Well, as is turns out (and you'll have to listen to the episode to get the full picture), this film was made for a different audience, a different purpose, and in a very different time. Oh yes oh yes oh yes oh yes. It's CHICAGO time!! We've got lots to talk about, including who reached for the gun. But in all seriousness, Rob Marshall's Chicago has The Back Log Boys saying some unexpected stuff about a crime musical (Tucker's two least favorite genres). Will this music fare any better than West Side Story did? Stick around until the end to find out which film we'll be talking about next week!

Among other genres, Tucker has a bit of disdain for the western. But, Clint Eastwood's genre deconstruction Unforgiven promises to make Tucker change his tune about the gun-slinging wild west. Week after week it just keeps slipping further and further down the list and behind the scenes the Back Log Boys have been grumbling more and more.
