It's been a long time coming to see some of the best athletic talent start or return to attending HBCUs, but it's happening and I couldn't be prouder

A few weeks ago, I went on a social media rant about the failings of our HBCU Athletic departments (see here https://www.instagram.com/p/CCLkFEXHBlD/), well Jackson State Univ must have heard me, because they went out and hired NFL Hall of famer, Deion Sanders. Within days of that hiring, the Athletic Departments value jumped by $19 million showing that if we lend our celebrity and equity to our HBCUs, we can help them grow

I'm black all the time, doesn't matter what I do, I know i have to do it better than other races. I'm just tired of my blackness being exploited for other people gains. It's almost like being black has become an exploitable element to society 

Why do we keep doing this, we turn on anyone who dares have a conversation with Trump. We are our own worst enemy
