🏈 The Debut Patch is officially coming to the NFL!

On today’s episode of The Quiet Card Daily Show, we break down one of the biggest hobby announcements for football collectors.

Beginning this season, NFL rookies will wear a special Debut Patch during their first on-field appearance. After the game, that patch will be removed and eventually placed into a 1-of-1 autographed rookie trading card, with the cards expected to hit sealed Topps products in 2027.

Not every event with cards is a sports card show — and I think a lot of collectors find that out the hard way.

They can ALL be great events — but you're going for two very different experiences.

If you walk into a Collect-A-Con expecting rows and rows of baseball, basketball, football, and high-end sports cards, you might leave wondering:

“Where are all the SPORTS CARDS?!” 😂

That’s because conventions tend to have a much broader focus: Pokémon, One Piece, Magic, anime, Funko, toys, gaming, celebrities, cosplay, vendors, activities, and plenty of other collectibles.

Meanwhile, a traditional sports card show is usually much more focused on one thing:
