If falling asleep feels difficult, sometimes the mind simply needs a gentler way to let go.
In this deeply immersive Yoga Nidra for sleep, you’ll begin in a quiet Cornish harbour at dusk, where an old harbour master shares a local legend.
He explains that sailors travelling through the night do not take blankets with them. Instead, they discover one waiting in the sky — a blanket made of clouds and stars.
As the journey unfolds, you’ll draw that blanket of stars gently over your body, awaken the stars through a calming rotation of awareness, and reveal a glowing map that quietly guides the boat toward the cove of sleep.
Along the way you’ll release tension, calm the nervous system, and learn a kind way to let passing thoughts drift away — just as sailors return flying fish gently to the sea.
This practice is ideal for:
• insomnia
• night-time anxiety
• racing thoughts
• deep nervous system relaxation
• falling asleep naturally
You may fall asleep during the meditation.
Or simply drift into deep restorative rest.
Either way, the tide will carry you.
Duration: approximately 45 minutes.
Best experienced lying down in a quiet place before sleep.
