Isaiah 53:6 

All of us have strayed away like sheep. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the guilt and sins of us all. 

If you are listening in real time, Good Friday is approaching. It’s the time of year we take a long look at what Jesus did for us, both on the cross and on the way to the cross. I will read prophetic verses from Isaiah and then sing them.

No matter where you are today - high on a mountain top, in the deepest pit, or somewhere in between - Jesus still owns the same heart that bore the guilt and sins of us all. 

He is the Champion of our soul.

Psalm 139:3

You comprehend my path and my lying down,

And are acquainted with all my ways.

There is deep comfort in knowing God comprehends and understands our path. He knows right where you are and walks with you every step. 

Spoiler alert: I recorded the introduction to this episode with my feet in the ocean. I was almost knocked over by a wave, but I kept my phone from launching into the deep blue sea. I think you’ll hear which wave. 

He is with us in the deep and the shallow, while floating or sinking.

Mark 4:37-38

And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”

In the middle of a scary storm, the disciples questioned if Jesus cared about them.

My friend pointed out that during this whole scene, Jesus was on the way to the cross for them — He cared more than they could comprehend at the time. After Jesus spoke to the wind and the sea, the disciples' fear and doubt turned to wonder. They would never see Jesus the same again.

In this episode, I will share some reminders of how God desires to reveal Jesus to us — even when water is filling our boat.

Nehemiah 2:17

Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace. ”

My pastor is teaching through the book of Nehemiah. After reading the verse above and the surrounding verses, he said it’s one thing to only see the problem, it’s another thing to see the potential.
