In this episode Myron Hieronymous Thomas presents the history of the Preakness horse race. The 150th running of the Preakness Stakes will be held Saturday, May 17th, 2025. The history of the Preakness is interesting that while it's the 150th running of the Preakness Stakes this year and the Derby was the 151st running, the Preakness actually ran two years before the Kentucky Derby, when Pimlico introduced its new stakes race for three-year-olds in 1873.

In this episode, we're going to take a bit of a diversion and put our focus on horses, specifically on racehorses, and specifically on the Kentucky Derby. This year, the first Saturday in May is May 3rd, and it will mark the 151 running of the Kentucky Derby. We will also review the history of this classic Americal horserace.
