This week on the show, because of a technical difficulty, we were unable to release a new episode to round out the holidays. However, we went to the tride and true archives of Sucktastic Cinema to pull out one of our favorite Christmas episodes. Back in 2021, our sister Samantha Kennedy joined us to talk a film prime for the Hallmark/Lifetime movies crowd. It's a little wild diddy called The Spirit of Christmas this week on the Radkast!
This week on the show, we continue on with some more holiday festivities! On this episode, we talk about a documentary that follows five colorful characters and their day to day lives leading up to when they can represent Christmas's ultimate icon! Whether they live in their daughter's basement, are a Dallas Polar Bear, a Pro Wrestler, or straight up legally change their name to the big man's, all these men feel they have the right to say "I am Santa Claus." That's the name of doc we talk about this week on the Radkast!
This week on the podcast, we start a string of holiday shows on the road to our 200th episode! Mild mannered Billy Peltzer lives a quiet life with his parents in an idyllic American suburb. However, when his eccentric father suprises him with a unique creature he's named Gizmo, he'll find that his and those around hims Christmas is about to be anything but holly and jolly. After getting wet, Gizmo multiplies into several other Mogwais, only these are little hell raisers. Once Billy disobeys the final rule of Mogwai care, not to feed them after midnight, the creatures turn into the grotesque and titular Gremlins and start wreaking havoc all over town. It's up to Billy, Gizmo, and Billy's love interest Kate to stop the monsters from ruining Christmas and the lives of their fellow residents.
This week on the show, we mix a bit of new material with some old material in honor of Thanksgiving! In this celebration of the holiday, we name some of our favorite holiday dishes and we revisit an old story about the holiday's history with our Hillbilly friends Jesco and Chauncey!
This week on the show we continue down the road to Radkast episode 200! The next stop is another Six Mix, and this time, we welcome back a long time friend and brother to take on the questions! We talk about being resourceful Midwestern kids, the treasures of Movie soundtracks, and the heart and soul of storytellers. All those things just scratch the surface of what we dive into with our pal Tyler Stricklan this week on the Radkast!
This week on the show, we continue our road to 200 episodes and take some time to talk another oddity documentary. What do Superman, Captain Jack Sparrow, Freddy Krueger, and a host of other intellectual properties have in common? How about they're protrayed by seedy, broken people on the boulevard of broken dreams. Swarms of them looking to get a big break without having to really work for it. It's a documentary that showcases people who fancy themselves the ambassadors to Hollywood and think, in due time, fame will just happen to them. It's the Reinactors this week on the Radkast!
This week on the show, our good buddy Derek Gove is back to take on the Six Mix questions! We talk about the perils of parents finding Napster downloads, music memories at the roller rink, and the bummer that was Saturday religion class. All those things and so much more this week on the Radkast!
This week on the show, it's the final entry in this year's Five Weeks of Fright! As Halloween inches ever closer, this episode we talk about a familiar character's own mishap with a Halloween Mask. Steve, one of the bullies from the first Haunted Mask, is upset that he's getting older, life is passing him by, and pretty soon he'll be too old for Halloween. To remedy this, he decides he wants to go the route of his victim from the year before, Carly Beth, and get a terrifying Halloween mask to wreak havoc around the neighborhood. However, he soon finds that he should've been more careful about what he wished for. Before he knows it, his night of chaos soon becomes a night of torment, and he'll go to almost any length to get back to normal.
This week, we're back with another Goosebumps riff for week four of Five Weeks of Fright 4! On this episode, a twelve year old boy with attention issues named Skipper constantly has his head in the clouds, and his nose in a comic book, much to the chagrin of his over-bearing father. However, when the pages of his comics start coming to life in real time, Skipper realizes that the world of masks and capes is more than he bargained for!
All that, plus, Count Uli receives some bad news about the last few weeks he's endured promoting the Hillbilly Halloween event. It's Attack of the Mutant this week on the Radkast!
This week on the show, we had to improvise a bit! After an eventful weekend left us unable to record what we had originally planned, we pivoted and dusted off the Radkast Ramble! On a Halloween edition of our throwback series, we talk a bit about popular Halloween costumes through the decades, Matt's first time watching a Horror Cult Classic, and the 75th anniversary of a Disney Halloween staple.
All that, plus, Uli talks to another eccentric local as they give a run down on what else their Haunted Hillbilly event has in store, this week on the Radkast!
