Bob Fontaine is a career educator, both in the public and private sectors. He strongly believes in the need for both systems, but is also cautious about the route Idaho is taking. Having been a teacher, principal, and superintendent, he is concerned about the state of support for public education in that he personally experienced the struggle with recruiting and retaining educators to serve our children. Dr. Parker Fillmore is a physician living in the Treasure Valley that came into a lawsuit with one of the major medical systems in the area. This resulted in Parker not practicing in the Treasure Valley and instead being forced to live here but offer his skills elsewhere. We talked extensively about some of the realities of the physician shortage in Idaho and how the medical systems are leaning more towards business decisions and not community health decisions, leaving all of us residents at a loss for service.
