The Reading Riot Podcast

Suffering from writing blocks? Not in a creative mood? We have the cure! Hang out with returning guest Kaylei and I, while we talk writing prompts.

That's right! In 500 words or more, we take on four contrasting prompts. Listen in and create your own! I CHALLENGE YOU!

DM your submission @thekimriot on Instagram and I'll feature you on this podcast and my page!

PROMPTS:

1. The howling winds wake me, and all I see is black. My hands are bound, but I’m able to pull the blindfold from my eyes. In the moonlit room I look with dread seeing the double red doors standing before me—the doors of the haunted manor on Twist Street.

2. The waves rock the ship, but my sea legs are strong. Nothing will throw me off balance on this sea venture. There is treasure on the horizon, and I - Captain Octavia Lane - will be the first one to find it.

3. There I stood, in the dark. The only light peering at me through the small opening at the bottom of the door. I flipped the light switch *CLICK*, but the light wouldn’t turn on. I strode further into the room flicking the second light switch. *CLICK* No, no, the lights are not turning on!

4. She loved sunny days like this. Fresh watermelon cut into pieces and sunbathing by the pool. She closed her eyes enjoying the beams of sunlight that pierced her skin. She liked the way it burned, a brief breeze easing the pain if only for a moment. For the moment was fleeting.
