The Fall of the Rebel Angels...  Down through endless darkness and deep perdition.  This week in The Reading Room, David plunges deep down into the abyss of the opening books of Milton's Paradise Lost for our second meditation on this masterpiece.  Why does Milton begin his epic poem in hell?  Why does Satan seem so... recognizable?  Even beautiful?  Or heroic?  We will explore the satanic mind and its infernal, liberationist machinations, with an uncomfortable eye on our own minds and their operations before and concerning the God who made them.  Take a deep breath, friends.
