  • Investing In Real Estate To Break Free From Being Overworked In The Medical Field | Ronnie Shalev MD
Today's episode is something a lot of medical professionals can relate to.

Being overworked and burned out working extremely hard in the medical field. Neander sits down with Ronnie Shalev, MD to hear how she gained financial freedom investing in Real Estate!

Ronnie Shalev is a board certified ER doctor whose high pressure job sucked the life out of her, leaving her weary, burned out, and unable to enjoy her family, kids, and day-to-day life. Because she made great money, she felt bound by the “golden handcuffs,” and saw no end in sight.

Through passive real estate investing, she was able to quit her grueling emergency room job and move into a less-demanding role at a medical device company.

Now, she helps others create passive income, so that they have the freedom to do what they want with their time, and not feel bound by their jobs.

Can store bought coffee be good?

Italo adventured through the aisles of a regular supermarket, trying to find good fresh whole beans and he came across the coffee that is featured in this episode.

The chosen one out of the many options he came across, was Avoca Coffee.

They’re from Fort Worth, TX and looked very promising!

The chosen method to extract the most flavor from this coffee was the V60 method.

We noticed that the coffee didn’t bloom as a fresh roasted coffee from a local roaster or a subscription service website.

Name: Avoca Coffee – Puro Tico
    Region: Tarrazu, Costa Rica
    Type: Caturra & Catuai
Notes: Candied almond aroma, subtle milk chocolate and peach ring flavors
with a syrupy body paired with sparkling acidity

  • From Growing Up On A Dairy Farm To Flipping Houses In Miami | Jackie O
This week’s guest is no stranger to hard work! Jackie O grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin, so it’s not surprising that she was willing to put in the countless hours to start her own investment services firm, real estate company, and now a new project to empower confident, wealthy women. She recognizes that entrepreneurs need to be ready to jump on opportunities when they present themselves and learn from every experience.

Jackie O, who happens to be a blast from the past from Neander’s musical days, actually has more in common with our host than real estate investing. As a dancer, DJ, and musician (guess what instruments she can play!), she is also creating a life for herself that blends her professional and artsy sides. She enjoys the polarity of creative expression within the artistic and finance world.

Coffee time takes us back to Brazil again! The Real Grind crew was lucky enough to visit this coffee farm located in Minas Gerais, and the coffee didn't disappoint there or back home in the studio. No surprise there - this coffee won the award for Best Coffee in Brazil two years in a row! Italo brewed the floral, fruity, and sweet blend with the V60 pour-over. Will Jackie O approve this message?

    COFFEE BIO:
Name: Ninho da Águia – Bourbon Amarelo
Region: Caparaó – Minas Gerais, Brazil
    Type: Arábica
Notes: Floral, Fruity, with hints of pear and melon with a very subtle sweet finish.
    Instagram: @cafefazendaninhodaaguia

Score: Just like when we tried it in Brazil, the freshness, the flavor, and the notes were all still there! We always try to bring that home when buying fresh coffee beans. It's a super smooth coffee, easy to drink, and great for first-timers! 10/10!

Lemma Coffee is located in Carrollton, Texas. Very close to our office and we go there every now and then to grab a good cup of coffee and this time, we decided to buy fresh roasted beans from them and it didn't disappoint at all!

Lemma is a company that has been built brick by brick since 2017. What started as an apartment garage experimentation roasting operation, has grown to a specialty coffee company. They have 3 locations in the DFW area, Carrollton, Frisco, and Plano.

The coffee chosen for this episode was brewed on a V60 filter. Here are the details:
    Name: Lemma - Basha Bekele
    Location: Ethiopian - Bensa, Sidama
    Type: 100% Arabic
    Notes: Cranberry, Citrus and Floral
    Instagram: @lemmacoffeeco

Score: This coffee was very delightful! Very fresh, light and easy to drink! All three of us truly enjoyed every sip of it and the cooler the coffee got, the more of the notes we were able to experience! Needless to say, amazing coffee from the first to the last sip!
That being said, we will give it a solid 9!

  • Many Hats, Many Houses | Dr. Tudor Francu, MD
This week's guest is a man of many hats, Dr. Tudor Francu! Anesthesiologist, multifamily syndicator, sommelier, and beekeeper! He's living proof that where there's a will, there's a way. Starting as a young immigrant from communist Romania, he worked tirelessly to build his own empire, which now includes two medical practices and over 5000 units in his portfolio.

After reaching his dreams of being a successful physician, Tudor yearned for something more. One book that has changed many lives, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad," changed his, too. He met Robert Kiyosaki in person, a meeting that launched his interest in real estate investing. While starting with single-family homes and at one point self-managing 30 houses, he has since moved his real estate investments entirely into multifamily properties. He's here to tell you why you should do the same.

At Coffee Time, Italo finds himself once again facing a challenging critic! Tudor is a trained sommelier with a sophisticated pallet. But Italo is bringing the big guns, fresh from a ziplock bag. Neander's family coffee was harvested by hand by his father in Brazil, and it has the magic ingredient - love. Tune in to see if that's enough to impress our guest!

  • Medicine, Marriage, & Money With An Ultimate Power Couple | Kate & Victor Mangona
Love is in the air! This week, we sit down with a power couple that has centered their whole lives around helping people in various ways, Kate and Victor Mangona. These two doctors who met in medical school have worked hard to create a life that allows them to serve their community, raise their children, and still have time for their passions - like real estate investing!

Starting with long-term rentals of single-family homes, they slowly found a niche demand for mid-term luxury rentals for neighborhood families who need a temporary place to stay. Since then, they’ve continued to expand their empire and are passive and active investors in over 3000 multifamily units. Now, they continue to build a “work optional” lifestyle through various additional projects, including a multifamily masterclass, marriage coaching, podcasts, and Facebook live sessions - all while working as physicians!

Meanwhile, Italo faces a challenge while serving Victor, who isn’t a big caffeine guy. Can a small but mighty bag of beans from Brazil impress him? Tune in to see if this light yet potent coffee from Vale Verde Cafe puts a little pep in their step!
