The Real Jesus Experience

Joshua Watson knew God had given him gifts. He wanted to understand what God wanted him to do with them.

In Part 3 of his testimony, Joshua shares his search for purpose, a powerful experience with God, and an unexpected calling. While worshiping in his workshop, God gave him a sense of peace about a future he still didn’t fully understand. Later, a story written for a Bible study became the beginning of something he hadn’t planned. As one step led to another, he began seeing how God was using the experiences he already had. The work was growing beyond what he could manage alone, and following God meant moving forward without knowing every turn ahead.

This is a story about finding purpose in what God has given us and learning to trust Him before we can see the whole plan.

Joshua Watson thought he was confident—but control was really a mechanism he wielded was a way to protect himself from being hurt.

In Part 2 of his testimony, Joshua recounts his pursuit of a music career, the pride behind his decisions, and a turning point with God. He had a plan for his life and little room for anyone who questioned it. When a sermon challenged his choices, he found reasons to dismiss it. But when his own plans stopped working, he became willing to listen. He asked God for wisdom, and over time, God began changing how he saw himself and treated the people he loved. He had spent years insisting on his own way. Now he was learning how to serve.

This is a story about the control we mistake for confidence and what begins to change when we finally let God lead.

Joshua Watson thought he knew the Bible well enough to judge the preacher—without reading it for himself.

In Part 1 of his testimony, Joshua recounts his parents’ divorce, a reunion with his father, and the pride behind his certainty. Reconnecting with his dad filled a hole he hadn’t known was there, and he credits God with how a short visit became a lasting reunion. He listened closely to his father’s lessons about the Bible. But when he went to church, he was measuring the sermon against what he thought he knew. He believed God had something for him. He also believed he already had the answers.

This is a story about the things we miss when we’re sure we have nothing left to learn.

In his childhood, Chris Hensley had brushes with church. Methodist with his own family, Pentecostal with the friends across the street, but the experience ranged from ok to scary.

In Part 1 of his testimony, Chris opens up about decades where God simply wasn't part of the picture, the season his wife Claudia decided she was ready for that to change, and his honest admission that he professed the same, but didn't think he was at the same place.
