Handouts Create Resentment

Anytime you increase the amount of currency in circulation in a specific geographic area it will lead to consumer price inflation. If you give more housing vouchers to Americans in Cleveland, housing will get more expensive. Whether the handouts are given to the current citizens or the new immigrants is completely irrelevant to pricing. It only effects perception. The more currency given away (flow) compared to the amount currently being spent (Stock) increases the stock/flow ratio. Injecting more housing vouchers in a small town like Springfield, OH will cause much more rent inflation than if you gave the same number of vouchers in Cleveland, OH. This is pricing many long-term locals out of their own town. That causes resentment & leads to many other problems.

Springfield, OH- Are Haitians eating pets?

While it is possible, it is not the norm. I believe the real problem is that the government is giving so much money to the immigrants it is causing resentment of some of the natural born Americans in this and many other towns. Every company and especially the government workers are under a strict gag order. Many would not talk to us while at work. Others (who were not working) were happy to give us information & some talked to us after they got off. They made it clear that what they said were their opinions & not supported by the company they worked for. The national attention seems to have created more problems & no solutions. As long as the government takes money by force from one group & gives it to another, there will be resentment leading to more problems.

Division & the Debate

Neither party or candidate is talking about decreasing government spending. Most Americans are more concerned with the price of groceries and gas than global warming. Neither candidate even mentioned that they would shrink any part of the government or decrease spending in any way. This massive overspending of the government is why we have consumer price inflation. They both did a great job of ignoring questions and blaming things on each other. The commentators even chimed in with misleading remarks. It is no wonder good people like George J. Chanos & so many others are getting out of politics.

Government is Showing its Weakness

The governments of the world, especially ours, are showing their weakness through wars. They are demanding media companies stop reporting. They are censoring more than ever. Strong men don’t need to start a fight to prove they are strong. They already have confidence. Only bully’s need to exert their dominance on others. Only liars need to suppress the truth. The good news is I believe we are at peak centralization. Look at how Uber changed the cab industry. Airbnb created as many rooms for rent in a few years as the largest hotel chains did in a hundred years. All of this was based on the safety of a 5-star rating only. No Government laws & protection needed. You wonder why cities are outlawing Airbnb? It is not because they are unsafe or bad in any way. It is because they are better and they cannot be controlled like the big chains.

FF: Recession is Inevitable…

But, is it imminent? Can the Federal Reserve kick the can any longer? This has been the longest yield inversion in history. Almost 50% longer than before the Great Financial Crisis. When will the markets break & what can you do about it? Ask for more bailouts? Throughout all of history, stealing money & value from people who produce, so you can give it to people who do not, has caused inflation & eventually toppled governments and empires. Is this time different? I doubt it.
