Today we go from the ROI on a college degree to writing a resume and starting a business. We even talk about taking over a business. If you want to succeed, don’t focus on what you want. Focus on your customers. When opening a business, the most important thing is NOT being perfect. It is to Get the doors open. Then adjust. If you want a specific job, don’t tell them how great you are. Tell them how much you can help their business. When you focus on the person who pays you, either a boss or a customer, you are more likely to get paid more. When you focus on what you want rather than what the world needs, you will get whatever the world decides to give you.

FF: Strikes increases prices!

Dock workers have a union of about 85,000 people that recently went on strike. They have 2 demands: No automation ever! And a $5/hr raise every year for 6 years. Ironically, the raise may not be enough to keep up with inflation. That may actually be achieved. What I don’t think is possible is to sign a contract agreeing to NEVER automate. Once something has been invented, it can’t be un-invented. Nothing can stop an idea that’s time has come. Automation & AI is here to stay and grow. Fighting it is like the trying to go upstream without a paddle on that proverbial creek. No matter what the outcome, the longer the strike goes, the more 99.99% of Americans (and many other countries that do business with America) will pay for the goods they buy.

The Cat is Chasing the Tail Again!

You cannot solve a problem if you focus on the symptoms rather than the disease. It is like a cat thinking it can run fast enough to catch its tail. If the cat sat down & realized running WAS the problem, it would already be chewing on its tail. Once you realize a lack of money is not the problem, it is just a symptom of your mindset…you can change your mindset. Your current friends and family probably will not want to go along for the ride. Only you can choose whether you let them hold you back or not.
