Instant Gratification & the Problems with It

If you do what is easy today your life will be hard. If you do what no one else is willing to do today, tomorrow you will have what no one else can have. By thinking longer term you may have to do things that are uncomfortable, but you can end up way more than comfortable in the end! That is what we taught our kids. The problem is kids grow up & run businesses and governments. If they learn to look for instant gratification at a young age they are likely going to keep doing that all of their life.

Decreasing the National Debt

Why are we spending money today that our kids will have to pay back with interest? Until we change the incentive structure for all government entities, we will never reduce the debt. Today we discuss many ways that all levels of government could incentivize saving money. If we keep passing 12 pages of laws a day and spending $2 Trillion a year more than we bring in the US is will continue to fall. This is just what happened to every empire in history. If we incentivize the right things in government now, we have a chance to turn this great nation around.

Brad Grayson-Freedom!

“Brad 20,000” Grayson talks about how he started with a small rental house years ago. After traveling over a quarter of the state for work he would make it home to spend time with his kids & have dinner. When they went to bed he would go back out to work on his real estate until about 2:30 in the morning. To remind himself why he did this, and probably to stay awake, he would scream “FREEDOM!” out his car window.

Now Brad has hundreds of houses and total freedom. He runs his own real estate investor group, Bartholomew County Landlord Association in Columbus, Indiana. Meetings are Mondays at noon and everyone can join in on Zoom.
