As an educator, I felt it was my responsibility to realize that I had an audience of almost 1400 students waiting to hear what I had to say about many topical issues. I also knew that whatever I said many would remember and maybe even act accordingly. We need to make sure that when they forward in this generation, they do so triumphantly. Sports: Track and Field (everything) Football (played for Santos) Was asked by teachers to be a part of a spelling bee, soloist on a choir, part of choral speaking etc. I wanted to play Jacks and baseball with my friends. Liked every subject at school but found Mathematics the easiest, requiring no study and not much effort. Employment: Government Medical Lab – Trainee Medical Technologist then Medical Technologist, Nutall Laboratory, Overseas jobs and Camperdown High School – Mathematics Teacher then Principal. CXC: Marker, Examiner, Panel member, Assistant Chief Examiner Teacher trainer ISSA: Chairman –Cricket, Swimming, Tennis, Football (Manning Cup). Vice President, Treasurer, Champs Committee – Tickets, gate and security. Secretary of the Principal’s Association (JAPPS) for many years. Board of Credit Union (AAMM now EduCom) 28 years Now General Secretary of Racers Track Club As the principal found the children interesting. Laughed every day. Tried to be a part of everything happening in the school. Maintained an open door for all students, staff, community members and parents.
