November 09, 2018Episode 117A: 10-15% Of The Population On antidepressants? Should Psychiatrists Replace Politicians For The Good Of Society?10-15% of the population are on antidepressants which is second only to blood pressure tablets at 14% leaving obesity in 3rd place. We discuss the reasons for this all culminating in a final common pathology of inflammation which then plays on an individual's weakest link be it the brain or the heart or ability to withstand cancer and tests it until it breaks. People with bipolar disorder have a higher risk of cardiac disease which is also seen in their close relatives without bipolar suggesting that both bipolar and depression have a shared pathogenesis. It all starts with our unhealthy lifestyles of which lack of exercise and substance use is the least if it in fact these are just symptoms. It is the intrinsic loss if identity and loss of socialisation which is one of the most important causes of stress to our systems leading to inflammation. Since this is a political issue then incompetent politics is tantamount to grievous harm on our bodies and minds. If politicians were truly held accountable for this instead of chasing their own vested interests and careers, we may not be teatering on the knife edge of chaos and violence and inequality where we currently find ourselves....more45minPlay
November 02, 2018Episode 116: William Sitwell : Free Speach, Politically Incorrect Or Just Not A Nice Person? And What Does That Mean For Him And Society ?Should William Sitwell have reached any news outlet at all? Or did the recipient of his email simply dislike him enough to manipulate a viral outbreak of politically correct identity politics turmoil? It is another example of competence getting you there but being disliked enough dethroning you even if the reason is not proportional. We discuss how the lack of structure and boundaries in society are allowing the chaos of political correctness which is an example of unregulated free speach to further erode any existing structure left. The lack of financial structure led to the financial crisis and it still has not been reinstated. As individuals we can respond by being self aware instead of being controlled by illusionary needs. Equal opportunity does not mean equal outcome because we are all different and as such we are as a society in desperate need of unification and guidance....more45minPlay
October 26, 2018Episode 115: Phillip Green, Women Equals To Men In The Army, Politcal Back Stabbing, Funding For Police. We discuss weekly political events. Philip Green has been criticized for using the power of his money to muzzle the press however the Lord who ousted him used his own exceptional power almost certainly because he did not like him. We discuss that competence may win you a position in society but likeability determines whether you stay there. Women in the army is another example of political correctness which insists on equal outcome which ignores the fact that equal outcome may be ultimately damaging because it ignores individual differences and shows a lack of understanding of the real basic right of equal opportunity. We discuss one factor religion has which is one key to maintaining leadership and that is a fervent love of your leader, in this case God....more45minPlay
October 19, 2018Episode 114: Anjem Choudary: Hate Crime Or Treason ?Has the whole issue with Anjem Choudary been mislabeled? We discuss how political correctness has watered down what is by definition treason to a hate crime and how society sleep walks through this. Furthermore we talk ourselves into needing to adapt to a changing political and work landscape which brings with it greater uncertainty which will only lead to a further decline in mental and physical health and social integration instead of realising that strong leadership should he guiding us through this and this is what we need to be seeking to achieve....more45minPlay
October 13, 2018Episode 113: Relationships. Secrets And InsightsThe secret of any relationship be it with yourself or anyone or anything else is acceptance and knowing how to be happy with the good enough as long as there are no deal breakers. The eternal quest for the ultimate experience also known as perfection is an artefact of modern times , a metaphorical illusionary need. We are hard wired to reflexly seek survival needs but since we have them in modern society then we live a life of metaphor and become slaves of instant gratification and spend our lives on this exhausting treadmill increasingly falling off with physical and mental illness. The horror is unregulated materialism/capitalism culminating in political correctness further disintegrates structure and is steadily leading to the collapse of modern society. This is not progress. Nor is it equality. It is chaos....more45minPlay
October 05, 2018Episode 112: Are antidepressants Addicitve? Whatakes A Leader? Likeability Or Competence?Antidepressants are not addictive. There is no sense of craving. There is however a withdrawal syndrome similar to the flu with mild hand tremor to varying levels which can also be avoided by tapered dose reduction. Depression itself is likely in most cases to be mediated by inflammation of various causes. Where you have the weekest link in your body is where you will break whether it is heart disease, atherosclerosis, diabetes , cancer or depression or dementia. Leaders are chosen principally through perceived competence rather than likeability , however likeability becomes increasingly important in keeping you in power. Whether someone complains about you depends on likeability not competence....more46minPlay
September 28, 2018Episode 111: Phobias, Traumas, Emotional BaggageHumans are primarily emotional beings , controlled by emotion and responding to emotional cues. As cavemen the reflex of doing this was the quickest way of responding to dangerous situations and staying alive. However in the absence of conscious thought this leaves little room for logic in today's society. We discuss how to treat blocks in emotional processing which can give rise to traumas , phobias or just emotional baggage. Self awarenes must be a lifetime's goal....more45minPlay
September 22, 2018Episode 110: "Me Too" Just an Illusion Of The Media? And How To Lower Wages While Raising TaxesWe think that most women and men are reasonable and both are prepared to take responsibility when they have consented to enter into a situation with carries with it expectations. The entire "me too' campaign is an artefact of the media who don't care about ruining a few people's lives from false allegations for the economic bottom line. In the UK this happened unfortunately at the same time as the now head of public prosecutions skewed the entire system towards the female claimant even before any evidence was found which then encouraged fraudulent and negligent investigation. We discuss the job market and how encouraging women to work and dangle the illusion of having a career as a carrot even though 98% of work is a job and not a career is a masterful way of raising taxes but at the cost of family structure. The same goes for allowing huge number of immigrants in most of whom work on minimum wage so our taxes them go to subsidizing the companies employing them. In one fell swoop if the government chose to they could raise the minimum wage to a living wage, employment would fall but it would allow more people to stay at home and concentrate on children and family. It would also discourage random immigration and reduce the diluting effect on national identity. We therefore summarise once again that the government has the power to solve matters by sanctioning the media for causing a storm amongst reasonable good people and by introducing a living wage which would improve family life and national identity which would improve everyone's mental and physical health and reduce the burden on the NHS. But tax revenue would fall.......more46minPlay
September 14, 2018Episode 109: The Reason Trump Was Elected And Why Boris Johnson Will Be.The media sells bad news and misinformation but that does not stop people voting for someone. Research shows that if you are viewed as competent for the job people will vote for you even if they don't like you. Therefore Boris Johnsons comments about letter boxes and infidelity will only serve to raise his profile and when he needs to he will have an enormous audience to whom he will demonstrate his competence. He is already one of the few people who most people listen to when he gives a speach. People function emotionally and this usually trumps logic. Psychopaths who are less emotional are likely to think more logically or coldly and clinically and that is a trait leaders tend to possess. He has his superficial charm which makes him approachable and his buffoonery which allows people to relate to him. We also talk about how the halo effect and anchoring primes our emotional decision making....more45minPlay
September 01, 2018Episode 108: Legacy. Another Word For Family Or A Modern Day Distraction From What Is Important In LifeWhat is legacy? That for which we want to be remembered? Who do we think we are? We are simply here to reproduce. As Socrates said (more accurately the Oracle of Delphi) love is the pursuit of immortality. Whereas some will seek to achieve it by marking the pages of history, most settle for reproduction. Yet we are all being told that both men and women need to chase their careers. This ignores the fact that only 2% of jobs are careers and usually those who rise to the top are disagreeable often to the point of psychopathy and have no concept of empathy to others including their work force or to their own family of they have one. 98% of people are stuck in jobs they hope to tolerate in order to make a living and until they realise there is no career at the end of the rainbow they may have missed out on family. Women are self harming more and have increasing eating disorders at school all because if the pressure society puts them under....more41minPlay
