In 2021, say what you mean and mean what you say.

Use words – and use the Word of God – in ways that bear out the real meaning of the words and the Word. 

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O God.” – Psalm 19:14

In his recent book, “The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self: Cultural Amnesia, Expressive Individualism, and the Road to Sexual Revolution,” Dr. Trueman analyzes the development of the sexual revolution as a symptom – rather than the cause – of the human search for identity.

No matter what else it may be, this is the day the Lord has made and this is the Year of our Lord, 2021. 

All of human history and the calendar used the world over hangs on the hinge of the advent of Jesus Christ. 

When all around us is madness, remember this.

And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 17 Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”

What does it mean to have childlike faith and approach the manger of King Jesus as a child in this Advent season? What does it mean to imagine the experience of the donkey and sheep and the wise men? What does it mean to imagine the hosts of heaven singing out that night? Let us come to Jesus this Christmas as a child.
