In her conversation with author, professor, husband, dad and fellow saint, W. David O. Taylor, Carmen gets him to share his recommended Psalms for TODAY in the midst of COVID19. Yes, they discuss his excellent book, Open and Unafraid: the Psalms as a Guide to Life, and yes, his toddler makes a brief appearance, but these are the notes Carmen took while they talked:
* Acknowledging that little children are dealing with anxiety for the first time, bring the Bible to bear with these evening and morning prayers in Psalms 4 and 5.
* During this Holy Week as we journey with Jesus to the cross, read Psalms 22, 23 and 24 together, in succession. Don’t divide them up but read them as a whole.
* To deal with coronavirus, Covid19, turn to Psalms 90 and 91. But to deal with the reality of darkness, depression and death, pray as well through the Psalms which proceed that, 88-89.
* And then, let us not fail to give God the Glory due His name! Turn to Psalms 146-150 to render praise!
In the second half Carmen talks with David Aikman about the status of things in the U.K. and around the world in our new reality.
