The Record Refresh

For the last episode of season 3, we’ve got a real treat - the boys tackle Radiohead and their 2007 album “In Rainbows.” To commemorate this event, Chris and Joe invite Joey’s brother, Michael Mezzatesta, on the pod. New episode! Lauryn Hill waltzes into our lives with “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” What a stunner of an album. Join the guys for their discussion of the autobiographical nature of this album (8:48) and Hill’s superstardom in the late 90s (12:21). Joey got COVID. Bad news. He’s better now. Good news! And his first post-illness pod takes the guys across the pond, for The Smiths’ 1986 album “The Queen is Dead.” The Record Refresh hits on some general discussion to start the podcast: Chris and Joe’s personal experiences listening to the Smiths (7:07), their initial takes on this album (13:14), and the Smiths’ short but productive career (16:53). It's Episode 5 of Season 3--the boys brush up on their high school Spanish as they cover their first-ever all-Spanish album on the podcast: Rosalía’s sophomore album, “El Mal Querer." It’s Episode 24 in total, and this is most definitely “one for us” - it’s System of a Down’s classic 2001 album “Toxicity.” It’s such a favorite that the guys invited on one of their best mates, Ky Romero.
