In this episode, Ana and Steven have Wes come in to discuss trauma trigger responses and how we work through them in recovery - without using drugs or alcohol. Trauma is an important thing to learn about and be aware of in yourself, and ways to handle it. Without that awareness we are blindsided by them and completely taken over.

In this episode Steven brings along his 13 year old son to discuss what life is like nowadays for a teenager in regards to peer pressure, knowledge of drugs, what's his perspective and experience with substances. We talk about the difference between drug programs of the past like D.A.R.E. and what they're like now, as well as some input on what they should be like. We also talk about why we started using to begin with and things that should be focused more on like developing healthy coping skills with our youth as well as the parents of this generation.

In this episode we explore the positive side to our character defects and behaviors, and what it takes to come to a place where we're ready to make changes with them. We discuss trauma, how it gets processed through the body physically, and ways to address it that don't involve the mind. Lastly, we close out the pod with dissecting the phrase "You can't love someone who doesn't love and accept themselves"

In a toxic relationship, it's common to deflect and project our issues onto the other person, but have we ever stopped to ask ourselves "Am I the narcissist here?"
We dive deep into this idea and dissect it from all sides, and talk about experiences in our lives where we feel we may have been the sender or receiver or narcissism, and ways to identify areas for growth and change.

In this episode we invite back the Flower Boyz for a foursome pod with Ana & Steven to discuss multiple topics. We start with expectations, then lead into vulnerability, how a recovering addict needs to be vulnerable to share their truth and remain in a state of authenticity. We later discuss the nature of empaths, how we feel intensely and this can cause us to take on more than we can handle at times, which is connected to vulnerability and the topic of codependency - which we discuss after.
Join us for our 42nd episode of The Recovery Pod! Thank you all for your time and attention, we hope you get something out of our conversations that helps you make it another 24 hours clean!
This episode is almost a mashup of sequels wrapped into one! We kick it off with time - does it really heal all wounds? Rolling into topics we end up discussing the Dark Night of the Soul concept again, this time in a slightly different way than last. We talk about what brings a person to a point of change and how getting in the way of that for others is basically denying them their awakening. We end it with what feels like Vibe Kills part 2 talking more about energies, moods, boundaries, and other things that can affect a person's vibe.
Join us for another fire episode of The Recovery Pod. We love you :)
