The Red Maryland Network episodes

  • The Conservative Refuge
    On this episode:
Continuing to avoid the substantive issues in the Governor's race, Maryland Democrats now vow to close the "Hogan loophole".  We'll discuss.
Some Maryland Congressmen are wading into the Ray Rice debate, criticizing the NFL but notably ignoring the New Jersey criminal justice system.  Congress actually has power to act on this issue, so why make an empty statement about the NFL not doing enough regarding domestic violence?
Some follow up to our discussion last week on state drug policy as both the Baltimore Sun and Frederick News-Post comment on many of the issues raised on this show.
Football is back, albeit the pre-season.  I share some reasons why NFL football is better than baseball or any other sport. (I know Brian Griffiths will be listening.)

The General Assembly's medical marijuana reforms are drawing criticism.  We'll discuss.
From the Human Exceptionalism blog, Lithuania proposes euthanize poor people to save money.

    On tonight's show:
Red Maryland's Choose Sugar campaign may be having an effect as Nanny Ken Ulman has revised the restrictions on sugary drinks at public events.  Sort of.  We'll discuss.
The Republican mayor of Annapolis has a great piece in the local paper showing how elected Republicans can bring fiscal responsibility to a deeply blue area like the city of Annapolis. An example of a winning message for Republicans in the most Democratic parts of the state.
Bringing an elected school board to Anne Arundel county has been a pet project of Red Maryland for years.  Now a local candidate for the House of Delegates promises to fight for an elected school board if elected.
The Hogan for Governor campaign is making a push in Montgomery County.  Can Hogan top the 40% threshold there? Does he need to do so to win? We'll discuss.
