Our 2017 General Assembly Session Preview Show!

The Sun predicts "political warfare for the session"

The Annapolis Capital looks at some local issues the Assembly may decide

The session's opening is clouded by multiple resignations and growing criminal scandals for members of both chambers.

Both sides look to make changes to the state's criminal laws beginning with the Governor's announcement today of new crime reform legislation.

This is a special edition of the podcast I did for RedMaryland.com.  It's a terrific political newsblog. I'm honored to be able to share my material with them.

The podcast covers Governor Hogan's tuition relief plans, inaguration news and much, much more.

Rob Carson gives his hilarious take on technology and how it is affecting our lives.

You have likely heard Rob on WCBM or WMAL or perhaps on one of the various talk radio stations around the country in which he appears.  Here is some more background on Rob from his website:

Rob Carson is a talk show host who’s heard nationally on some of America’s biggest talk stations like WLS in Chicago, WYAY in Atlanta, KKSF and KSFO in San Francisco, WPHT in Philly, WCBM in Baltimore and more.  His nationally syndicated comedy is heard by millions.  His show is about politics, pop culture, personal experience, connection, huge comedy…and oddly enough, cooking and lifestyle topics.  He has over 100 cooking videos on the web, so whether he’s talking cabinet secretary appointments or what’s in your kitchen cabinet (Dear God…did I actually write that?) he’ll make it funny and compelling.–Carson

On tonight's show:

As the 2017 Maryland General Assembly is set to begin Maryland Democrats are facing a cloud of corruption with guilty pleas and charges against multiple current, former and would-be democrat legislators.Delegae Dan Morhaim (D-Baltimore County) crony corruption and failed ethics seems to be catching up to him although his punishment may actually lead to worse outcomes for rational drug policy in our state. We introduce you to our newest Red Maryland Network contributor Rob Carson.I share some feedback to a recent cycling related "Get Off My Lawn" segment.

If you read the paper you learn that Maryland's Medical Marijuana industry has an "immaculate conception" problem. You'd also know that places such as Howard County are trying to make themselves "sanctuary counties" from illegal immigration enforcement. Both of these are instances of liberals showing a disdain for how federal-state relations work, and show that they are engaging in the same type of nullification that they presuppose is of the far right.
