We have wanted to do this podcast ever since we came across the amazing Get Naked Australia (GNA) and Brendan who runs the community. We’ve been a part of the community for a little while now and find it really inspiring and liberating to be able to be naked out in nature, without it having to be anything sexual or sensual.
Where we live is quite conservative, there is very limited naked areas in comparison to European countries for example and it’s not looked upon favourable in the general public. With increased censorship on socials as well (as we have spoken about before), we thought this was the right time to release this conversation about non-sexual nudity with Brendan!
The Get Naked Australia Community is a group of people who promote body positivity through the practice of Naturism. Naturism, in the eyes of GNA, is the practice of non-sexual nudity in a private or social environment.
Brendan’s aim for GNA is to connect people who practice or want to practice non sexual nudity through our community group and run events including cruises, hikes, beach days, yoga, retreats and online events.
We spoke to him about how this movement started, what hurdles have gotten in the way over the years and conscious naturism as opposed to the traditional “nudist” groups and resorts that you may have come across over the years.
We personally shared some of our personal experiences with nudity and how amazing and freeing it felt to be out in nature, as we were born to be!
Love what Brendan and GNA do and we hope to see you at an event soon if you live in Australia.
Find more about GNA on their website - www.getnakedaustralia.com.au as their social media has been unfortunately censored quite significantly (as we can relate to).
